Salomon Sense Ride 3 Trail Running Shoe - Men's for Sale, Reviews, Deals and Guides

Hands down the best shoe I have ever purchased. Light yet very stable and supportive. Very comfortable. I'm usually a US10.5 and sometimes order a wide if available,, but US11 for these shoes fit perfectly. I don't run anymore due to climbing & skiing injuries, but I do everything else in these shoes.

Ran in the original Sense Rides and loved them...but love these more. The Sense Ride 3s feel more solid and stable -- as another review said, a little beefier, without sacrificing feel. I've used them on a mix of single track, fire roads and paved trails and they work well on all of them: stable, grip well, enough cushion (bit not too much), etc. For me, the lacing system works better than any traditional laces which never seem to tighten as evenly as the Salomon system. These shoes rock.

Salomon overall does well, but sometimes their models bounce quality. What I mean by that is one year their shoes work for me, the next they don't. With this year though, the Sense Ride 3 were great and they currently my true workhorse shoes, taking on hundreds of trail miles of all different kinds. The top mesh is breathable, and quick with moisture wicking. The sole is comfortable, and what makes me happiest about this shoe is that it has got more grip and better foot feel with use and that is something that definitely keeps me running in them. I will make sure I get a few more of these and thoroughly enjoy the miles on them.

I'm new to the Salomon sense ride after running on Montrail's for the past 8 years. At first, I found the feel of the sense ride 3, which I would describe as a minimalist sneaker on a fairly beefy trail running sole, to be a little awkward for me. Having had them now for a month, each time I go out I enjoy them more and more to the point where I'm now pretty convinced I prefer them to a bulkier trail running show. I do think you sacrifice a little bit of ankle support so that's something to keep in mind if you need/like a lot. I think it's plenty sturdy for me. Also, I'm a big fan quicklace adjustment system. Again, took a little getting used to, but now that I have, so happy I don't have to tie and untie my shoes anymore. All in all, after about a month & +/- 10 times out, I definitely recommend the Salomon sense ride 3.

If you've run in the Ol' Reliable Sense Ride 2 in the past, this shoe should please you. The Sense Ride 3 takes the basics of its predecessor and improves upon many of them, providing a comfortable ride, responsive feedback, and a solid upper while managing to not feel like a pair of moon boots. I've used these shoes 8-10 times on varying types of terrain (gravel rail trail, smooth single-track, techy hills) in southern NH and they've proven to be a versatile beast of a shoe. While not my typical type of shoe in that they have a taller stack, larger drop, a bit beefier than I usually run (see: Sense 4 Pro), I have no complaints about these shoes. They've given me a level of smooth that' I haven't experienced in a running shoe before while still allowing me to feel the ground underneath me. Bravo to Salomon for threading the needle on this one! If you're looking for a shoe that will be smooth and cushy for the long haul, you can stop here. This will do you will on a quick 5-miler on smooth local trails to a 50k in the mountains and everything in between.

Fits flawless. Secure and comfortable fit but not constricting. Had the original Sense Ride which I liked. Currently have Sense Pro 3 which is too constricting and narrow. Also currently have Arc'teryx Novan LD which is decent but a little sloppy.

I received these shoes about a month ago and they have been a fantastic, do it all shoe. I first spent some days walking around breaking them in and they are very comfortable/supportable while standing on your feet all day, breath well and I received a compliment or two! I've only run in them a few times but I was able to put them through a variety of conditions: packed trail, mud, sand, loose gravel, snow, ice, little rock fields, and road (truly all in one run, gotta love mud season in Salt Lake City, Utah!). They performed really well in pretty much all of the conditions (even the snow!). I was very impressed with the versatility. Definitely if you encounter ice, be a little careful as these won't save you (pretty rare running so I'll take that tradeoff), but even then they can still hang. Overall impression- Comfortable, supportive, accurate fitting, breathes well and pretty water-resistant. It could be a great one shoe quiver! Durability, I'm not sure of since I have only had them for such a short time but given my long time experience with Salomon and their proven track record of design/materials, I'm not too concerned. Enjoy!

I was a huge fan of the Sense Ride 1&2, but the 3 is honestly my favorite. It feels like a perfect hybrid of the Sense Pro and Sense Ride 2, hugging the foot in all of the perfect ways to support my foot on unstable terrain. It has the awesome step in comfort that comes with all Salomon shoes. I love these on rocky and smooth terrain, my go-to shoe! For sizing - I am a Women's 7 in all Salomon, but a 7.5 in most other brands. Note: I am a Salomon employee.

This is my first introduction to the Sense Ride line, coming from running predominately in the Ultra Pro and Ultra 2s previously. My primary training grounds have me running a fair amount of vertical gain which is why I have stayed in the lane of high drop shoes. I have wracked up a lot of mileage on my Ultra Pros (which I absolutely love), but have been in the market for a daily trainer instead of putting so many miles on race shoes at a higher price point. Right out of the box the SR3s have performed wonderfully. This weekend I ran them on loose, wet mud, varied snow/ice conditions, as well as dry, hard pack, and they performed optimally in all conditions. The toebox is narrow (true to Salomon fit), but I found no discomfort while running down hill 3,000m+. The heel cup was surprisingly supportive and hugged the base of my achilles the way I had hoped it would. It was readily recognizable that the new Optivibe midsole was going to be a game changer as soon as I hit the downhill as the jarring I am accustomed to was significantly dampened. The Contagrip outsoles continue to earn their credibility, especially on the snow and ice. Where others had stopped to add traction, I was able to go much further before donning spikes. Breathability never presented itself as an issue in any of this weekend's conditions; no overheating and sweating on dry hard pack, nor did I notice any absorption in the mud or snowy conditions. In summary, I could not be more impressed with the SR3s. Marketed as a mid range trainer, this really does feel like an all-terrain, any conditions option in the quiver. The only con to speak of, and this is more a personal preference than a functional concern, is that the lace garage is fed from the bottom of the tongue as opposed to the top. The last eyelet that the laces pass through lands about 1/4th of the way up the tongue and above the garage, which makes it a bit fussy to get the laces properly stored once the shoe is tightened as the laces are cinched against the garage. I haven't noticed any loosening mid-activity yet, but for the sake of an honest review this was the only note of personal preference that I could come up with. As far as I am concerned the SR3s check all the boxes for a go-to trail trainer.

It is currently snowing so no outside running, yet, but I have found that these beauties work well on indoor track surfaces. It's a lightweight shoe that gives me plenty of cushion and the grip was fun to play with while doing some speed tests around the track! I can't wait to see what these can do on a dry trail when the snow melts.

man oh man. use this as my go to trail shoe, commuting shoe for my runs to work during these wintery / icy mornings. the cushion mixed with traction provides that all day comfort with unparalleled traction. it amazes me that such a lightweight shoe can provide that much comfort and still be sturdy enough to tackle icy/ snowy terrain
