This rod and reel are great as your first time fishing. This is my first rod and love it. It made learning how to fly fish super easy and fun. The carrying case this come wish has enough space to hold the small gear you need.

I've loved taking this out! As a new fly fisher, this has been a great rod to learn on. Easy to pack up. This will be nice to take on backpacking trips because its to easy to pack and has its own carrying case to strap to your pack. 10/10!

I recently got the fly fishing bug and wanted a basic starter set before I dropped a bunch of dough on gear. Redington came highly recommended to me from multiple people and this starter package was everything I needed. I scooped up the 5' 9wt. A very versatile rod and it has gotten the job done in any scenario I've found myself in. It came prespooled and even had a small fly box with some different dries... can't beat it! Smooth action in comparison to what I've used and haven't experienced any issues thus far.
