I purchased this mat because it was on discount and the reviews gave good ratings for comfort and grip. It's true that the mat is roomy and well-padded. As someone who's 5'9", I feel like I have plenty of space. But if you're looking for a mat with decent grip, this isn't the one. I've used it a handful of times and have already noticed that I can't hold a down-dog on this mat without sliding if I have even the slightest bit of sweat on my palms. Maybe the grip will get better with increased use, but I somehow doubt it. Side note: raisin is an accurate color descriptor

Although it's advertised for taller individuals nothing wrong with snagging it if your a bit smaller. Just means you’ll get to enjoy more room! The thickness is spot on for those who don’t like to feel like they are completely on the ground. Mat stays put and looks pretty sweet in the raisin color. Practically promotes zen in itself!

I finally decided to purchase my own mat after using studio mats for years, and I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner. I finally have a mat that suits my height and is very high quality. It has made a huge difference in my classes - worrying less about coming off the mat and letting me focus more on dialing in my positions!

This is really the best quality mat for the price, and the materials and productions methods behind the construction defiantly align with a yogi philosophy. I like the nonslip surface, and that its reversible, using both sides depending on how it begins to smell. This particular mat is the large one which works great for me since I'm 6'2. I am particularly fond of the grippy psychedelic patterns that are fun to stare at while holding poses.
