Petzl's Attache Locking Carabiner is particularly useful to climbers when you're belaying with a Munter hitch. Its wide head accommodates Munters as well as clove hitches, while the narrow bottom stabilizes your belay device for better ergonomics. Petzl designed this compact carabiner with an H-shaped cross section to keep it light and strong. The screw lock gate features a red visual indicator that will alert belayers when the carabiner is unlocked.

I used this at an anchor and it got stuck, resisting all of our attempts to unstick it over half an hour. I was forced to leave it along with the perfectly good sling I had used for the anchor. It is well documented that this biner sticks, see other reviewer and Mountain Project. I’m just glad I didn’t have it stick in my PAS and get me stuck up a cliffside. I plan on replacing all of these that I own.

The current generation of the Petzl Attache has a well documented failure mode where it gets stuck locked. Petzl claims this is due to over-tightening but there's a lot of evidence that this is not the case. The Attache on my GriGri got stuck locked recently when we were consciously trying to avoid over-tightening it -- I had noticed a bit of grittiness in the threads and was aware of the issue. This was very inconvenient and would not have happened with any other modern carabiner. See mountain project, etc, for many more reports.

The Attache makes hooking in to your belay device and rope a dream! The top geometry of the carabiner is incredibly wide and helps you avoid any awkward angling or fumbling when you clip in to start belaying your partner. The Attache is also lightweight without sacrificing any functionality or feeling weak/flimsy. The screw-lock design of the Attache works amazingly and having since used this Carabiner, it has become my main go-to carabiner.

I bought this to use as part of my PAS when cleaning. I love how light but sturdy it is. It’s very smooth so I can screw one-handed, no problem. Would definitely recommend!

Really great carabiner! The locking mechanism is smooth and I like the size of it, it's only 70 grams. The spring bar is awesome! It helps preventing it from annoying twisting in the belay loop. Pretty much everything made by PETZL is awesome.

Love the lock on this carabiner. I particularly hate other type of locking systems, but the screw lock is my personally fave. I really like the orange color since it matches with my ensemble. Very sturdy and really snappy when closing so I'm sure it won't open if I had it unlocked while belaying.

I love these wide face lockers to belay a second, or to act as a masterpoint. They're incredibly lightweight relative to their size so you really can't go wrong with a Attache locker.

These are great for just about everything from belaying on the ground to setting up anchors. Easy to lock and unlock, with a nice indicator (red line) to help you note whether or not you have actually locked it into place. Buy these. You won't be disappointed.

i primarily use this for my petzl pirana. just wanted to list that first as it took me a minute to find a good carabiner to fit. other than that it is a good lightweight locker. i will definitely be buying more of these to replace my others. quality, light weight gear is the way to go.

This is by far my favorite pear shaped carabiner on the market. Petzl has superior quality over any other manufacturer out there. Made in house at the highest quality standards. The red mark indicator is a great visual check to make sure you have locked the gate. Nice round edges make it nice for a really smooth rappel, belay, and all your rope handling needs. Highly Recommended

These provide just about everything you need in a caribiner- light, strong, and functional. I threw these on some nylon runners, and use them as my personal anchors. I will be getting more of these biners down the road.

These are the best hms carabiners I've purchased. They are light, and function great. Perfect size and shape. The screw gate feels and works great. I started with one, but liked them better then my BD and mammut carabiners. So I bought three more. Four of these live on my harness. Two for my reverso, one for me to clove into th anchor and one for my rappel extension.

Light, durable, and simply elegant. The gate and the lock operate smoothly for the whole life of the biner. So many more uses than a regular locking caribiner. Will never be a better product on the market.

I really love the feel of the screw gate on the Attache. The machined groves give you great purchase while locking or unlocking the gate.

This carabiner is pretty much the only one I like to use. The shape is great for clipping in, belaying, rappelling, and anchor building. It's lightweight for it's size/utility, and the screwwgate is super smooth! Give me a shout for all your climbing needs

I loved the original Attache locking carabiner, was my favorite mid-sized locker. I am a huge fan of the smooth action of both the gate and the locking sleeve, and the fool-proof red stripe indicator is a great reminder of whether or not your biner is locked. Well, Petzl just one-upped themselves by taking a great locker and making it even lighter! They used an H shape cross-section to remove unnecessary extra material while still keeping the same structural integrity. It is perfect for building anchors, and even has the heft necessary to be a good belay biner.
