It looks like most of the reviews are about how beautiful the pattern is, which is undeniable. This blanket makes me want to make my bed, just so I can admire it. However, I have noticed that I sleep much better under this blanket and I wasn't sure why until I discovered "weighted blankets" which are exactly what you think they would be. Apparently the additional weight of these blankets help people fall asleep and stay asleep. I believe the weight of this thick wool blanket is doing something similar. I sleep so well when I use it.

The slight mix with cotton makes it so this wool is not scratchy at all. It's not the softest blanket I own but if it was I'd be afraid to take it out of the house. I got the Aqua color and it is gorgeous! It's pretty true to the color on the picture I'd say. I went with the Chief Joseph blanket because I love how long it's been around. These blankets are amazing. I most recently bought it as a housewarming gift, but they are great for weddings, kids off to college, bdays, holidays... you name it. It's a big, warm, and heavy duty blanket. Not the softest, but less of a scratchy wool feel than I expected. When it's not advneturing around with us, we leave it draped on the couch.
