Pearl Izumi's Versa line of clothing is quickly becoming some of our favorite technical cycling pieces that can transition from on to off the bike performance seamlessly. We've been grabbing the women's Versa Quilted Hoodie for hopping on the bike and running errands around town or for a great pre or après ride piece and it has yet to disappoint.

Pearl Izumi constructs this hoodie with a lightweight and water-resistant softshell to keep out the elements. Keeping your core warm is Primaloft insulation and we think Pearl hit the sweet spot offering just the right amount of insulation to keep us cozy, will still breathing quite well and keeping the amount of bulk down. The two hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket allowed us to keep valuables close at hand and the hood with draw cord added additional coverage in poor weather. A drop tail offers extra protection from the elements and reflective accents for low-light visibility add to the on-the-bike features we love so much in this hoodie.

I really had no need for this jacket but thought it was cute. I can't imagine wearing it on a ride (i'm primarily a road rider). It feels kind of heavy but not heavy in a super warm kind of way. I'm pretty much a size small and I bought an x-small which was a good call because otherwise it would not be fitted the way i like it. But by sizing down, it feels a bit constrictive to use for riding. Not to mention the totally useless pockets. I can't even get my hands all the way in the front handwarmer pockets. Anyway, it looks good to wear out but don't count on it as a serious jacket for winter activities.

I purchased the purple/poppy red in size M. I am usually between S and M, wear consistently a S in Patagonia. Ordered both M and S, small fit but was snug, especially in the shoulders, M was comfortable but not baggy. PROS--great color, seems to be quality materials, good chest and lumbar pockts. Wore it for a hike in single digits with a nano vest underneath and long sleeve wool top and was perfect. CONS--hand warmer pockets very small, not very functional. Hood ties very long and annoying, may just get rid of them. Overall, seems like a good winter outdoor activity jacket!

I bought the purple/poppy version in a size Medium (i'm 5'6 with a smaller build). Fit is pretty standard and the coat looks really cute. However, I've been disappointed in the amount of warmth that the coat offers, especially given the price. I was expecting that I could wear this jacket down into the 50's, but it's not warm enough for that. Overall I'm disappointed to pay the price that I did for nothing more than a light jacket. It is on sale more now than when I bought it so the cost is a little less painful.

This jacket is super high quality, with all kinds of bells and whistles that add to its functionality and versatility - hybrid construction, long sleeves with cuff inside, nice fitting hood, high quality materials, longer back, pockets, great colors ... But the fit is off for me. I wanted it to look like the photo - fitted and long but not super tight (this as much for function - no wind sneaking in, no material flapping around when running/biking - as for vanity). But it's more boxy than that, shorter than it looks, and the chest area is way too big for my petite girls (although I have a broad swimmers' breadth). Sizing down would be too small in other areas (and even shorter) so I am returning this ... and still on the quest for a hooded winter hyrbid running jacket!

From the trail to the streets, this jacket is a good versatile piece. You can wear it casual or on the mountain bike. It's not too thick and has just enough warmth to not overheat. True to size.

I bought this piece for mountain biking this fall when the air turned crisp in Minnesota. Since winter decided to show up early, I decided to try it as an out layer for some winter biking on the trails. Not disappointed at all. I wore it with a utility layer and a Patagonia vest under and have biked in single digit temps wearing it, and stayed plenty warm. It'™s light and easy to move in. No problems with the hood or strings for me. It’s a great piece planning to use it as my outer layer through the winter months.

I love this jacket for casual wear. It is lightweight and warm. I have not worn it on a ride but have been running in it and wear it as an everyday jacket. I plan to use it this winter on my fat tire bike. The back pocket is great for your phone. I have not used the hood but the drawstrings are long, it could be bothersome on a ride. I bought the black in a Medium. It is a bit big but allows for layers. (I am usually between a small and medium) I really like the looks of it. It is very comfortable. It was a great purchase for me.

I would not use this again to bike... the hood when you look back in traffic sometimes gets in the way and the strings from the hood flying in the wind was not great either. I would recommend this nice jacket for hiking or even every day use instead of biking (unless you are on a fun joy ride). Nice quality and warm. I should have ordered a small (5 foot 3 inches, 118#), runs slightly larger. Bought the fun colorful one.

I really loved this jacket- the colors, the design. But for me it was too tight in the arms - bulky in the shoulders but tight across the back. I've seen it fit others really really well, I just don't think it was designed for someone who is broad and 36 D- I was in a size large. But The body fit great!
