The Patagonia Men's Wavefarer 19in Board Short is ready for coastal escapes, laid-back beach days, and trips to the local swimming hole. Since it's meant for playing in the sun and surf, the Wavefarer 19in Board Short features a forward-facing inseam that eliminates chafing and irritation.

It's comprised of quick-drying nylon, complete with a DWR finish that rapidly disperses moisture once you leave the water. Going one step further for quick-drying comfort, the zippered hip pocket has a draining mesh pocket bag. For greater convenience while you're traveling, the hip pocket doubles as a compact storage sack.

These are my new favorite board shorts. The cut is perfect for someone who doesn't want to cover their knees but also doesn't want to show too much thigh. The zipper pocket is a nice addition as well. They also dry quickly and seem well constructed (which isn't surprising considering they're made by Patagonia).

This is my second pair of the Wavefarer (had to go down a size) and I'm just as impressed as with my first. I've tried the other major brands for board shorts including Billabong, Rip Curl and Hurley, but they just don't compare. The Wavefarer have the right blend of cut and fabric. Also great durability for both rec pool with the kids and the surf. I really like the length too, not flashing excessive thigh and also not ballooning below my knees either.

Great quality, super comfortable and dry quick. Love the zipper pocket and how it can hold both a wallet and phone easily

I got these for my beach vacation to Mexico. I cannot say how great it is to have the zipper pocket to put in valuables that you know you won't lose! Highly recommend them!

I bought these for my brother and he LOVES them. He wore out his first pair after loving them a little too much and couldn't survive without getting a new pair! They fit great - just above the knee and look awesome on the beach, river, or just working around outside. The side pocket is big enough for a phone and wallet which is a huge plus. Highly recommend!

They are above the knee which is perfect for me. Light weight in and out of the water, very streamlined in the water and light and dry quickly out of the water.

I love the look of these shorts, and if anyone gets a chance to read what you're wearing; you've got a great conversation starter. They are also really comfortable and classic fit. I'm 5'11 180lbs and got a 33 and they fit me well.

I initially purchased the Patagonia light and variable shorts and had to return them. These shorts are a much more regular fit whereas the light and variable were very small. These shorts have a little more play in the size as well. They are not stretch material like most boardshorts these days but they are lightweight and comfortable. I really like the the side zip pocket for wax in the water or a wallet at the bar afterwards. The 19 inch length ends just above the knee which is about my limit for length. Patagonia has paid attention to detail with these shorts. The drawstring closure matches the embroidered Patagonia emblem on the leg and there is even a double fly with hidden button to make sure everything stays together. I would say these run a size small in the waist based on all of my other boardshorts but as I said they have a lot of play in the waist which is nice.

These are the best board shorts I've ever owned. Their comfy, shed water really quickly and are super lightweight. I spent over a week in FL this spring and basically lived in these. Length was spot on and the fit was perfect. I plan on picking up another pair, I just can't decide which color I like the best.

I have been super happy with this suit. This is the first shorter swimsuit I have purchased and I'm really loving it. I was nervous about the length but it's comfortable and easy. The print is nice and the fabric dries quickly. I'm going to get a few more colors.

I bought a pair of these in a print version, and i'm absolutely in love. I use my board shorts for working out, lounging, lazy trips to the store, and of course for swimming. These are a rougher material to the touch, but more durable then your super soft board shorts that will rip at the first sight of sharp pointy objects. The thigh high pocket is way better then ones near the bottom of the short and the zipper is less of a hassle then the velcro pocket closure which a lot of them come with. I think this is the low key best board short because there are no reviews but they sell out really fast, get yours before their gone. -Quick sizing tip, Im 5'5'' 150 lbs and i bought these shorts in a size 30x19 (waist/length), they hit me right above the knee for the most part and are perfect on the rare occasion that i need to do some extreme lunges.
