Iâve climbed and lounged in these a lot and they are great for both. The material is strong and stretchy enough in all the right places. The drawstring ankles are really nice when climbing so they donât slip over your heels or get caught on anything staying close to the wall.

These are a great cut and lighter weight than the simul, but the fabric is NOT stretchy. The size 30 are oddly much smaller than the size 30 simul, which is very strange considering they're almost the same cut, just different fabrics. So size up!

Interesting I ordered these pants about a month ago. They were on sale. No where does it say that itâs worn wear and they sell the product without disclosing somewhere. The pants are actually worn wear from Patagonia. I actually love worn wear but the website seems shady. Didnât expect this from Backcountry. They are however very good at bombarting my email account with new products. Capitalism.

Super disappointed in the fit of these - was really looking forward to them. I'm a 28 in Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Black Diamond and The North Face and never had an issue with sizing. The inseam was perfect and the elastic for rolling up the legs is awesome but the crotch was way too short. No matter how I positioned the waist the seams were literally pressing against the old boy and was uncomfortable. The amount of stretch is also not as significant as expected. I tried mimicking certain moves at home and there's no way these would be good during actual use. Most of the reviews for these are excellent so YMMV but for me they did not work out. As usual the construction quality is excellent and I really wanted to rock these.

The most rad pants I have ever owned! The fit is perfect around the waist, no belts no problem, and the length is on point. So glad they included pockets in all sorts of places that you can reach with ease, with really well made zippers. I have used these mainly for backpacking as the DWR is a game changer and these pants are perfect for the duration. Though these work perfect for climbing too , those great pockets and the adjustable leg cuffs come in handy. Stellar pant that will last, thanks Patagonia!

I primarily boulder, and was looking for a new pair of synthetic pants for climbing. After reading reviews and talking to my fellow climbers, I pulled the trigger on these pants. I am a tough fit for most pants (I wear size 28 x 34 jeans) I ordered a size 28 and I would say that the waist fits true to size, the length is probably somewhere around 32 inches. I generally cuff the ankles of my pants while climbing, so the lack of length here doesn't matter to me. The adjustable ankle is nice and seems to be a well thought, yet simple system. I generally require more room in the seat a thigh area, and these pants fit comfortably in both areas. The pants are very light and stretchy; they don't prohibit my mobility at all. The pockets lay flat when nothing is in them, and they have ample space for an IPhone 8+ and my wallet in the front. The additional thigh zipper pocket is nice and looks quite snazzy. The only thing these pants are missing would be a small loop for a brush. All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. UPDATED: I've had the pants for a few weeks now and had the time to really put them through their paces. The drawstring ankle system is easy to operate and doesn't come loose while climbing. Though the material is light, I have found it very durable. I don't even worry about sliding across a rock or placing a knee bar, even though the area I climb is generally regarded as quite sharp. These have become my favorite pants for nearly everything. I love that I can wear them to class without sticking out and then walk to the gym and hit a workout or climbing session without having to change. If you're thinking about picking up a pair, stop thinking and pull the trigger!

I gave these as a gift to my brother, here are his thoughts: "Really good technical pants, nice breathable material that is very elastic making it perfect for climbing and hiking. While I have not had them long enough to give a detailed durability review, they have not shown any sign of deterioration from indoor climbing. The cinch belt works well and keeps the pants on tight."

Have you ever put on a pair of pants and thought to yourself, "Dang, my butt feel good! Let me just give myself a nice little love slap?" If not, you are missing out and should buy these pants. Oh, and there's a genius cinch at the heel to give your ankles the hug they deserve. They also seem to be as unbreakable as Kimmy Schmidt. Whenever I put these on I do a little dance to celebrate the perfect fit. They are so brilliant I bought two pair and will likely buy another (And I thought Nelly was crazy for telling us to give him two pair). Get them before they change them!

These pants are very lightweight and comfortable. They have been great hiking and have held up nicely sport climbing. The only down side that I have found is that the built-in adjustable “belt” doesn’t want to stay tighten where I put it. It’s not a big deal because they still fit pretty well but I will notice they feel like they are sagging just a little under my harness while I’m climbing and it’s difficult to adjust with a harness on.

Love these. They fit very true to size, I wear a 30 and got a 30. They move incredibly well. And the DWR is amazing. Highly recomend

Great all around outdoor pants. First used them on hike through Glacier NP and loved them. Light but tough. They dried quickly. Good fit. Like the draw string bottom to use when climbing.

I sport climb and boulder (in and out of doors) in the central Texas area. I bought these pants hoping I’d find my go-to climbing attire for the chillier months, for eliminating a few shin scrapes, and to add a layer between my sweaty legs and the rest of the world. These pants would probably have done the trick, but after trying them on (and performing mandatory toe hook demonstrations on various door knobs and tables around my house as well as doing some quality lunges in the living room) I quickly realized a major issue for me: the saddle region (er, um, the groin area) was seriously tight and restrictive. I concluded that I just couldn’t have my junk all bound up like that on the regular (think: casually having these pants on almost compared to having my junk all scrunched up in a climbing harness on the wall...). In the end, I decided to return the pants. I’ll keep searching! P.S.: I love Patagonia gear and I hope I find something else that fits my needs a little better.

Liked the pants except they were marked as size 30 when in fact they were size 32! I had the length shortened before I discovered the size error. They wouldn't stay up with a belt. I ended up giving them away. Would suggest that you measure your purchase as soon as you receive it to determine the correct size. Patagonia need better quality control wherever they have these manufactured.

I look so good in these pants. I love the fact that they feel like pajama pants, but look like I'm getting ready for business. They are so comfortable!!!!! If you have any questions about this or any other gear shoot me an email at jasjones@backcountry.com or give me a call at 801-523-4053

The first thing I will say is that these are more durable than the description lets on. They're my new go-to over my Venga pants also from Patagonia. The breathe very well and the cut moves with you in a way that they go unnoticed, unlike my Vengas which keep moisture and stick to my legs in big moves. I'd say an overall out of the park home run on these, Patagonia.

I used these pants during a climbing expedition in Colorado, and they were marvelous! The quality is top-notch: comfortable, and dependable. These pants withstood rocks, water, and glissading -- no rips or tears, and kept me dry.

Buy this pantalon in blue (31), which I thought perfect, after buying the black (31) same but the latter is bigger than normal and when it is adjusted wrong.

On the fifth day climbing jesus was resurrected wearing these pants and was ready to ascend every pitch that these heathens dare claim un-climbable. The comfort this garment provides often leads me into situation where I am no longer wearing underwear and simply going commando. The cinch cuff is great if you wanna show off those ripped calves and look like 80's Kurt Russell in his full glory. I feel like the pants will last quite a long time, which is cool because the material is (as I mentioned before) quite comfy and is still resistant to any tears or scrapes you may encounter on the wall. I also used these pants on the river after I encountered 3rd degree burns from the pain orb after a long day of rowing. They dry pretty well so take that for what it is.

These pants fit great on me, which is rare because I have pretty big thighs. They're great for climbing and most activities you would do outdoors. They dry quick, and the cinch cuff is super nice so you can pull them up to your calf or even your knees if you need to.
