Slipping on the Patagonia R1 Lite Yulex Front-Zip Short-Sleeve Wetsuit is as much of a part of your morning routine as putting on a pot of coffee. The fact that you're consistently the first one in the water makes forcing yourself not to hit snooze worth it, and you know that if the waves are big this morning you may just be too "sick" to make it to work.

Not only is the Yulex wetsuit durable, warm, and comfortable, but it’s made with neoprene-free, 85% natural rubber. The rubber comes from sources that are Forest Stewardship Council certified by the Rainforest Alliance, meaning that it is harvested in a way that doesn't contribute to deforestation, and upholds strict economic and social standards for workers and surrounding communities.

Because you spend more time than most in the water, you really appreciate that the suit's asymmetrical zipper is corrosion-proof for a better seal, and it's also replaceable, increasing the longevity. Patagonia added Supratex kneepads to ensure lasting durability and a mapped, anatomic fit for unrestricted motion in the water. And, since there's few things that are worse than a leaky wetsuit, the seams are triple-glued, blindstitched, and internally taped to keep you comfortable in the water.

This is a fantastic suit. I have been wearing it in water 59-62 and I am still comfortable. 25 years of surfing and no suit I have owed takes the abuse like a Patagonia suit. Can't speak highly enough of the costumer service here at backcountry. I bought a different suit and the seams started to come undone after about a month. Customer service helped me to return it and refund me with no hassles. I don't buy gear from anyone else anymore.
