Apart from having a very unique name, the Chacabuco Backpack is Patagonia's largest daypack for those who can't leave gear behind. This big backpack boasts two generous main compartments, one with a padded sleeve for most 17-inch laptops. The padded sleeve also doubles as an insulated sleeve for reservoirs thanks to the integrated tube port. Breathable, padded mesh makes sure the back panel and shoulder straps are comfy on or off the trail. Patagonia made the Chacabuco out of a highly durable recycled polyester with a DWR coating for superior water-resistance. This pack also features a zippered pocket for quick access to essentials, small pockets for sunglasses and car keys, stretch-woven pockets for water bottles, and shock cords for bulky items like an extra layer.

So, for so long I have always thought backpacks like these all generally fit the same. Having the opportunity to wear many different styles/brands, my mind has been changed. I bought this and it has always felt like it wasn't adjusted quite right, I think I have played with and adjusted in every way, but haven't found that "feels so good" setting. Tons of space and well organized and set up to wear on the trail and pound the pavement during the week. All in all I am satisfied with the bag some improvements could be made.

I purchased this pack to replace an old messenger bag I used for work. The construction and material of this pack is good, however, the rough material on the backside of this pack have caused many of my clothes to prematurely wear out. The shoulders and lower back of my shirts and pullovers I have worn with this have pilled, and in some places almost worn through. I want to use all my clothes and packs as long as possible, but I cannot justify continuing to use this pack. This is the first item I have ever gotten from Patagonia that I am not satisfied with. Before purchasing I had read other reviews mentioning this problem, but I ignored them. I wish I hadn't

Wouldn't recommend for hiking/strenuous activities, but bought this as a gift for my dad and he loves it as a daypack for work. Easily holds laptop and everything else you need to carry you through your day.

My younger brother has had an older version of this Patagonia backpack for about 4 years now and really likes it. After checking his out I decided to buy this one but was disappointed with a few different things once I got it. The quality didn't compare to my brother's and seemed to be a much poorer design. I ended up returning it for a different brand, and of course since it's Patagonia shipping was not free - Lame.

Patagonia makes a great product and this is no exception but this bag is better for cruising around town rather than for hiking .

After my partner's hiking backpack got stolen that she was using for work we purchased this as a replacement. Lucky she no longer needs a daypack for work because this probably wouldn't stand up to the test. Overall seems to be a great pack - ample storage space that is well organized. The first long hike with it she got a really bad migraine - possibly just the general way weight is distributed with the pack - and she said it felt like it was pressing on a weird spot on her neck/shoulders. Maybe because it was the men's fit and not the women's this was a problem but she often uses men's packs without having this issue. Great pack for general use (love the material) but not able to be used the way we intended.
