I gave this as a gift to my grand-nephew who absolutely loves this! At first, he it looked lame but he stated that it definitely grew on him and thinks that it is the 'coolest thing ever'! My grand-nephew loves to do outdoor activities and theme parks and this has helped protect him his head and neck from the sun. It is light and and can be easily packed away in a bag too! Great practical gift to give!

If you're looking to save your skin from harmful UV rays then do yourself a favor and pick one up. I"m also a contractor here in the SLC Valley and spend a great deal of time on roofs in the summer. This has been a great piece of gear and easily washable when it get funky.

I love this hat! Its looks are exotic, bringing back to the memory evocative images of the Sahara desert, with its dunes, camels, and Tuaregs ... Wearing it, the hat makes us feel that we're part of that landscape ... On the other hand, the material is soft, light, adaptable, and it fits perfectly the contour of our faces, and heads ... I'm delighted with it, I'm ready to go on new adventurous with my great companion, the Sun Hat. I highly recommend it. Cheers, Maria Teresa

Excellent cap all around. First one I've ever bought like this, but I like it. Plan on using it for extended backpacking trips when it gets hot. Pay attention to the size chart though. Backcountry didn't have a size chart that I could see for this cap, and so I guessed a medium would work for me. I was wrong, as it's way too small. But I like it and so I'm going to keep it for my kids to use, and then pick me up another one. Here is the size chart that I found on another website: Small 21-5/8 in. Medium 22-1/2 in. Large 23-1/4 in. X Large 24 in.

We recently went hiking and my dad's neck was getting sun burnt! He had to apply sunscreen to it constantly. So for Father's Day I decided to give him this hat with the removable sun skirt to protect his neck while we were out in the sun. It was perfect!! It protects him on sunny days and the sun skirt comes off for the days you don't need it! It is essential for anyone who wants good sun protection!! Its great for all adventures.

Fantastic protection from the sun, even in windy conditions. Very breathable and lightweight, and it packs down small for easy storage in your pack. I'd recommend white to minimize the heat in open sun. And, the removable sun skirt is great for heading into town to resupply.

I really like this hat. I use it hiking, camping, climbing, and plan on using it for ski touring in the spring/summer. It weighs next to nothing and you can take the flap off if you don't want it. It's simple, pretty cheap, and works great.

I love this hat. With or without the cape. Mostly without, but for days when the cape is needed it's priceless. You can even use the cape without the hat by clipping it onto your helmet headlamp clips, perfect for big walling. Unfortunately I lost mine, but I promptly ordered a new one because it's so perfect. Super ventilated, white, cool, stylish, breezy, shady, and it covers your head.

OR makes good gear and this is no exception. My large hat fit true to size on my 7 3/8 head. Very light quality materials and designed to provide wrap around protection. Spray it with permethrin to keep the bugs off during your expedition.
