I reach for this one for search and rescue work and for major snow pit work. It is an absolute beast and can move snow very well. The D-shaped handle works great if you need to wear mitts in arctic cold temps. I am an Ortovox Ambassador and received this shovel to test and use.

Love the added 90 degree feature for digging pits. Yet to use it in an emergency, but really satisfied with weight, functionality, fit in backpack vs anything else I've had.

I picked this up as I wanted a shovel that could move a large amount of snow quickly, had a D shaped handle, and could operate at a 90 degree shovel angle. This shovel certainly has not disappointed. I have dug a number of pits with this so far and its works incredibly well. Fortunately I have not had to use it in a rescue scenario but I have no doubt in my mind that it would work well when I needed it most!
