First time I used the product and the elbow joint broke and dumped 3-4 liters of water into my backpack soaking all my gear. This happened on a cold weather trip so I ended up having to hike out into the night without water since sleeping in wet gear in upper 20 degrees weather is a solid recipe for hypothermia/death. Very poor quality product if it broke this easy and what makes me mad is not the fact that it ruined my trip but I wasted my money on this. I’ve been a big supporter of MSR as other products have held up well but obviously this one needs some work since they make such a big deal about how high quality all their gear is. Not sure I would trust it again even if they sent me a replacement after my experience.

Got this hose to replace my lost one. These hoses are dang good to have with the drom bags.

I was initially pretty bummed to get the attachment, and see that it was not compatible with my lid. I scrolled through the comments, saw the contact information, and they sent me a new cap immediately. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the product.

Pluses: I don't have to buy another drinking reservoir bag and I can use the dromlite bag I have for purifying water for my drinking water bladder, awesome! My biggest and only complaint is the space it takes up. I went one multi-day trip with it in the water bladder pack in my backpack, and with the normal cap, plus this cap and hose, it took up a lot of awkward space. The last multi-day trip, I ended up clipping it on the outside of my bag (thanks to it's handy and sturdy built-in O-ring!) to solve the problem. I love the idea but I might buy the MSR water bladder specific option next time. Still, it does what it is made to do!

It would appear the kit needs an adapter to fit the Dromlite which I did not receive.

I bought a 6L MSR Dromlite Bag, an MSR Spigot Cap, and this MSR Hydration Kit. I thought my kit would be complete. Unfortunately this hydration kit is just about worthless. I unscrewed the top that came with the Dromlite Bag and tried every configuration possible. The screw/threads on the hydration kit just don't fit - it's about an 8th of inch too small. Disappointed...

I have another MSR dromedary that has the built in hose. I got one of these because mine is very tall and narrow, so consequently when it is filled it poofs out quite a bit. I was looking for something with a bit lower profile and thought I'd try this out. Poor. Life. Choice. My plan was to put it in the hydration sleeve of my pack and use it to stay hyrdated. I could have seen this coming, but the hose just does not stay on. Every time I tried to use it I'd end up with a wet bag before the hike even started. As the hose attaches onto the cap via some weird nipple arrangement, the whole apparatus protrudes several inches (note:no actual measurements were made) so when it goes in your pack it's a prime target for the hose coming right off. I try holding the hose down as I shove it in my back - still comes off. The hose attachment needs to go on the bottom because physics, and for that same reason comes off and ruins your day. Just get the MSR with the built in hose, it's cheaper and less annoying. Buy this if you just want a camp straw or a bad time.

I have the MSR drome dry bag, and it works perfectly attached to that. Is great for long backpacking trips or even when you need a little hydration on a long car ride.

If you are looking to turn your dromlite or dromedary into the best of hydration systems, this kit is a must have. It is perfect for backpacking, day hiking, biking, or really anything in which you just want a sip of water without having to pull an entire bottle out of your pack. Itʼs super durable, shut off valve included, and a nice little clip that can be attached from the tube to your shoulder strap, or even shirt, as a friendly reminder to keep drinking.

This kit is good for turning the droms into normal hydration bags. With this kit and the drom bag, I no longer need to carry my water in 2 three liter bottles in my truck (and can use the space for other things). The bite valve takes a little getting used to, but I got the hang of it (hydration pack bite valves seem a little less stiff). There is a "garden hose" taste, but that doesn't bother me (don't know if it is the drom bag or the hose). Too bad these aren't included with the drom bags.

These are the way to go if you have a MSR Dromedary bag. Like Matt, I started using these when I was doing wildland fire, but have since been using it for everything from ski touring to desert backpacking trips where water is scarce. Overall awesome product, water tastes good out them, and MSR dromedary bags are super durable, so you don't have to worry about them springing a leak in your bag.

I used this with a 6 liter dromalite bag last summer as a wildland firefighter and it was awesome! Love the long hose and the bite valve. I loved having a 6 liter hydration sack too, it's nice when it's 100 degrees and you are digging next to a fire all day. The hose never grew any funky bacteria or slimy stuff, which is a plus. And it held up to some heavy abuse.

This is a decent hookup for the MSR bags (i use the dromedarys). The only issue i have with them is the price and they are also too short for 55-65 liter backups and too long for the smaller backpacks. But overall..they do their job quite well in terms of function...i havn't had any issues with leaks or anything like that

This hydration kit makes the MSR bags so much more useful, The tubing is a little short for my bag to be deep down in my backpack but if i just put the water on top of everything works with plenty of length.

The kit works fine, the problem is the bag leaks. This is the second one I have purchased that has done this. If you buy one, fill it full of water, put the lid on, hang it upside down over night. If you get no puddle, go ahead and use it. The problem seems to be around the lid, I was disappointed, MSR stuff is usually great

Works great, stands up to a beating. If you can't figure out how to use it or you feel its difficult to tell when the valve is on you shouldn't be out in the woods. MSR comes through again with a great idea!

The MSR Hydration kit is a must for any Dromlite or MSR Dromedary Bag user. As if these water bags weren’t versatile enough to begin with, this just takes it up a notch! Pro: Hose is sturdy and can take abuse, bite valve is well put together and delivers much needed water just like any othe. Fittings used to attach to dromedary bags are very solid and swivel for adjustment. Taste, what taste? You’re going to taste your water, that’s it. Con: The provided little clip you see in the stock photo is pretty tough. It was difficult to keep it snapped in place when first purchase, but if you work the piece back and forth for a few minutes, it will be a lot more pliable.
