I have several pair and use these often in the garden these days although I found these worked well for rope handling as well. The Petzl belay/rappel glove is a bit heavier and feels more substantial but if you are looking light glove that protects fingers and doesn't degrade your finger dexterity, and is a bit less expensive these work well.
