Look to the La Sportiva Women's Tarantulace Climbing Shoe for comfort and performance on multi-pitches. This unlined shoe features low asymmetry, a flexible midsole, and a smooth leather upper to help your foot feel cozy after climbing cracks for hundreds of feet. La Sportiva reinforced the upper with synthetics for longevity and reduced stretch. FriXion rubber gives the sole plenty of stick for slab, and the toe is a little thicker for face climbing.

I got these for my girlfriend as she was getting into climbing. These were my first pair when getting into it and it is still a perfect classic to use. Fit is comfortable and true to size, Edging outside and inside is great on these and they are neutral so they don't make climbing hurt.

I have these as a back up pair for any of my girlfriends that want to learn how to climb. It’s comfortable and perfect for learning in the gym or outdoors on some mellow pitches.

This brand is the standard in the climbing industry. Stable and reliable shoes, great for beginners and the laces make it a much more customized fit.

My wife loves these shoes. She loves that she is the exact same size in any shoe across the entire la sportiva brand. Great mobility while very stiff on the edges and toe. Great adhesion of the rubber to the leather. This will be a shoe to last.

This shoe checked out on a lot of blogs as the best for beginners. They don't disappoint. Definitely a comfortable shoe and I prefer the laces since it gives a more customized fit - they're just a pain to undo after a session. I have yet to take these outside, they've only been used in a gym thus far, but I would recommend this to friends who are beginning. I got the smallest size, 34, and I'm usually a women's 5 or kids 3. They're a great size for me.

I am a new climber and was tired or renting climbing shoes at the gym so I decided to buy my own. I listened to the reviews and ordered a half size down because the shoe does stretch after a few hours. I have worn them about 8 times already and love them. I would definitely recommend these shoes for beginners! I've been able to make a lot of progress with these shoes

Bought these as a gift for a friend she opted to go a half size down and is comfortable in them. Laces make for a customized fit and they are a wonderful gym/all around comfortable shoe.

I've loved all of my La Sportiva climbing shoes and this is definitely the one to get if you're new to climbing. I prefer lace-ups for a closer fit, or I can keep them unlaced for a quick warm-up at the gym. Definitely not an aggressive shoe, so don't expect too much out of them. But if you're looking for a cheap, comfortable shoe with a wider toe box, these'll be your best friend.

This was the first shoe I owned when I got into climbing. The fit is great. I ordered down one size for a tighter, more aggressive fit. They have a good stretch and a great grip. Great value!

I bought these shoes as a gift. Words from my sister: The shoes are grippy yet are comfortable with a little bit of stretch. Great value shoe for getting into climbing. Held up well on the slab!

I'm a beginner climber and this was my first shoe that I used only in the gym so far. It has been great for me so far with enough grip and flexible so felt more comfortable than other shoes I tried at first. There's probably a little more room in the toes than other climbing shoes.

I gave these to my aunt as a Christmas present. These are her first pair of rock climbing shoes and they have been great for her. She is a beginner and these are the perfect beginner shoe. They are affordable and work well when you are just starting out. She has used them a could times bouldering and climbing at the gym. They fit perfectly and were true to the sizing chart. She would recommend them to any beginner looking for their first shoe!

Was pretty (very) skeptical about buying my first pair of climbing shoes because I have wide feet and wasn't convinced any of them would ever be comfortable. Happy to report that I was wrong. These are awesome shoes for beginners! Definitely fit very tight at first but after a few weeks in the gym, they felt super flexible and comfy. Not aggressive shoes, but if you're just starting out and plan on climbing 2-3 times a week, these will be perfect for you. A friend steered me away from more expensive options for my first shoe and convinced me to try this pair for a few months and see if I liked them. Many months later, these bad boys are still going strong!

These were my first climbing shoe and they were great to get started into climbing because they are comfortable, fit nicely, have good rubber, and you honestly can't beat the price. I would recommend these shoes to people looking to get into climbing but maybe don't want to make a huge investment money wise. They will fit comfy on your feet, making long days at the crag or climbing gym pain-free. If you're looking for a stiffer, more aggressive shoe, I would recommend a different shoe. As a final note, I noticed the fit started out super snug but after a LOT of use, they got a little looser, making them feel like ultra comfy climbing shoes.

I bought these for a good friend and this is what she has to say: As a beginner I wanted something that would not kill my feet. I found these shoes to be very comfortable. I have a wider foot so it was harder to find a shoe that felt good and also supported my foot. I love the color as well!

This is my first pair of climbing shoes I have owned. They are a good all around comfortable beginner shoe. I love the idea of the lace up shoe so I can make them as tight or as loose as I want. Sometimes when it is hot outside your feet can swell and so its nice to be able to loosen them but still have the support you need. The shoe also isn't super arched so you can wear them for longer periods of time. I wear these indoor and outdoor. Awesome beginner shoe!

This was my first pair of climbing shoes. I recently exchanged them for a pair of Scarpa Force V's because I have pretty large, wide feet for a woman and women's climbing shoes are just too narrow. I liked that these laced, but even when I tied the laces differently to give it some width, but pull the heel in, it just didn't feel supportive for me. I also slipped a lot on the wall at my bouldering gym when I wore these. Bummer. I do know plenty of other women who love these shoes, however, and it works out great for them. They just weren't the shoe for me.

Bought these shoes for a friend, and she has had nothing but good things to say about them. She really likes the way to fit (true to size for her) and said they are ultimate comfy. The light blue color is really cool and looks great!
