The winner of the coveted Editor's Choice award from Trail Runner magazine for 2019, the La Sportiva Bushido II Trail Running Shoe is designed for serious runners taking on technical terrain in the mountains. This newest iteration aligns with the mentality of — improve it, but don't mess with what makes it so loved. With the Bushido II you can expect the same low-volume performance fit, same snug fit, same low weight, same drop, and same outsole rubber and lug pattern. This outsole and aggressive lug pattern provide you with excellent traction across both wet and dry surfaces when you're running fast on steep mountain terrain.

Perhaps the most noticeable update to the Bushido this season is its midsole construction. La Sportiva added their proprietary LaSpEVA in an effort to create a more responsive and springier ride to keep you comfortable through longer distances. Additionally, the upper is updated to be more breathable while still retaining the same durability of its predecessor so you can confidently tackle rugged terrain through the mountains. Finally, in an effort to avoid pinching, the toe guard has been redesigned. Rubber extends over the toe box for bomber protection on those technical trails you tackle while the strip of synthetic material that used to reside on the perimeter of the toe box has been removed to avoid pressure points to keep you comfortable through the miles.

These shoes are fantastic! The shoe fits great and hasn't given me any trouble, from day one. I have very wide feet which usually limits my shoe selection (RIP Nike and Salomon) but these worked great for my feet! I typically run moderate trails (nothing crazy) 5-10 miles at a time and these shoes have been wonderful. I got them to replace an older pair of Scarpa trail runners but I think I prefer the drop/overall construction of the Bushido. Overall, would recommend.

I had three pairs of Bushido trail running shoes. La Sportiva products fit my foot like a dream from trail runners to my mountaineering boots. I also wear them at work in the hospital. They have a narrower heal and my heal sits down nicely in the pocket which prevents my feet from pronating and my foot doesn't constantly slide forward into the toe box like in a Nike product. I have only had these a month, but will log my results so far. First of all, thank you La Sportiva for giving women a selection of colors other than magenta or turquoise. I prefer shoes a little more on the subdued side and I am frustrated often with having to choose between pink and turquoise, when the menʻs colors are really what I want. At least I could pick the black on this one. I love the rubberized toe (and it may not be rubber, but I will call it that). So many times in my B I shoes, I would hit my toe on a rock and there was just no protection. Ouch. The B IIʻs have a layer of protection now added. Obviously not like a boot, but it affords more protection when you do hit that occasional rock. The soles are similar to the B I. Still the original La Sportiva shape that I have come to know and appreciate. Still the grippiest trail runners I have EVER had and they are so light. The laces are fine and stay tied. Overall, the shoes are a more rubberized ALL over and they feel a little more squeaky. This means that dirt falls away more easily BUT it also means that these shoes donʻt breathe as well as the B Iʻs and there seemed to be a little longer break in. But I do love them and I probably should buy 5 more pairs before La Sportiva decides to change their foot lasts (please donʻt!). I would go back and choose the B Iʻs for breathability but the B IIʻs are a step up for that toe cover and the increased grid of rubberized material over the whole shoe may make them more durable. Dont change La Sportiva! I am addicted to your shoes and donʻt want to wear anything else.

I am new to trail running and was surprised when I found out street shoes and trail shoes are different. I wore these yesterday and felt the difference. These are narrow as some mentioned and I sized up from my regular street shoe size of 6.5 to 7.5. Love the color too! They felt great right out of the box.

Originally got them a half size down which was a mistake on my part. Reordered then in an 8, my usual size and finally reordered them a half size large in an 8.5 and they couldn’t be more comfortable straight out of the box. They’re light and the grip seems incredible. The customer service help was great and I appreciated their help reordering them.

BEST & COMFIEST shoes I've ever owned! Fit like a dream, and never even had to break them in. I use them for working out, trail running, traveling, and just in my everyday.

Extremely versatile, does everything the original Bushidos could do, but these are more comfortable in the forefoot. They are indestructible in the mountains; I choose them for big days up high on varied terrain from really rocky to smooth. Since the lugs aren't that big, they also work okay on roads in a pinch, say if you only have one pair of shoes for travel, you won't feel ridiculous running on pavement in these if you have to.

I really like these the color is great, I’m in between sizes so went down instead of up and I am not sure that was a good choice. They have great traction. Only problem is they have dyed all my socks red from the inside...
