The Kuhl Men's Shift Amfib Shorts have go-anywhere, do-anything attitude that's fit for weekend romps and multi-week vacations alike. To achieve such a design, the designers at Kuhl outfitted with Shift with a stretch fabric that wicks moisture and dries quickly, promoting a comfortable wearing experience. Meanwhile, the DWR treatment fends off light moisture and bolsters the short's drying time. A gusseted crotch promotes a full range of motion, and the lined fly and waistband promote unencumbered comfort. Not to mention, the Shift features a chino-inspired styling, so you're able to transition from the tarmac to the coffee shop in stride.

These are great shorts - they are more of an athletic fit than my other (cargo) shorts, but they look great - several have complemented me on them. The fabric is fairly stretchable which makes them very comfy. Several great color options. The material dries quickly during use and spot cleaning is easy. The waistband tie chafes a bit when tied. As other reviews have noted, the snap on the waistband pops open occasionally (maybe I need to shed a few lb's off the gut?). Despite these minor issues, I really enjoy them. Bought another pair in a different color.

I like the shorts and they seem to be made well, but they run very small and tight. Unfortunately, I have to pay return shipping despite this, which I was unaware of.

The snap button on the waist clicks twice when pressed closed. The snap seems secure. However, the snap pops open, when wearing a tight fitting belt, every time I bend down or sideways. I have a similar pair of these shorts in the 12" length and that snap pops open too, but not every time I bend down or sideways. When making a conscious effect to hear the two clicks on the front snap, the snap pops open.

I purchased 3 pairs of these shorts from the Kuhl website. They all fit the same and were the same size I have ordered other Kuhl shorts/pants. I ordered another pair from Backcountry during a sale. They were a size too small(fit). Not Backcountry's fault..I have had numerous issues with Kuhl's unpredictable sizing even between the same exact product.

The fit and look of these shorts are pretty good, however, I ended up returning them. I was comparing these shorts directly to the Kuhl Ramblr's and the Ramblr's ended up fitting and looking just a little better. I'm pretty short and wide, so that might be the reason. These shorts just seemed a little more form fitting than I was expecting. Despite all this, if these shorts were my only option, I would be happy with them, just not as happy as the alternative.
