The Immersion Research Rival Long-Sleeve Men's Paddle Jacket will keep you dry while you're out on the water, courtesy of a three-layer WhiteOut membrane that's bonded to a 70D nylon shell and sealed up with latex cuff gaskets. Immersion Research opted for neoprene at the neck gasket and waistband, which isn't quite as waterproof as latex but is far more comfortable, making the Rival a great option for paddlers looking for a comfortable jacket that can still own serious water all the way until full-on drysuit season. All the Rival's seams are fully taped, and it has a fabric inner tunnel for extra protection and comfort.

Really loving this jacket so far for the 2 times i've used it. Paddling in the mid 70's lately and I stay mostly dry and plenty warm. Fit is great, fit on the wrists is tight as should be and the neoprene neck is very comfortable.

For those who have used the IR shorty, which has a rubber bead inside the neoprene neck gasket (which seals well), this does not have that rubber bead. In the large, with a 16.5" neck size, this was too large. It will let in water. I may try a medium. It may be that the smaller neck opening will seal better. It's a Semi-dry top. As long as you understand that some water may come in when you roll, you'll be well informed. Also, understand that the review requires a rating. I haven't used this product.
