It's no secret that traditional cotton tees soak up moisture the instant you begin to sweat, making you feel uncomfortably damp, especially in the underarms. Resolving this issue when you're hiking under the hot sun or traveling long hours through hectic situations, the Icebreaker Men's Tech Lite Crewe Shirt provides lightweight wearing comfort and moisture management with its soft merino wool fibers wrapped around a durable nylon core.

Not only is merino wool much softer than coarser wool fibers, but it also wicks sweat off your skin to eliminate the damp, clammy feel. Merino is highly resistant to odor build-up, meaning you won't offend your hiking partners or the guy in the next airplane seat after a stressful run through the terminal. To ensure durability, Icebreaker wraps every merino fiber around a nylon core for greater longevity and abrasion-resistance.

I absolutely love these shirts and have bought them for years. I however don't recommend them for endurance athletes (running, mountain biking, hiking with a vest or pack). They just get too soaked when sweating, thus heavy. I just got back from a run and had to take it off mid-run.

These are the most comfortable shirts I have ever owned. Stretchy and soft good for casual or active wear.

These shirts are the best! I have worn the dark grey and light grey for about 2 years now through all kinds of adventures. I recently purchased a black in the same size as the original two and am pleased with the consistent quality. This newer one does seem to be a little bit longer vertically than the original two, but I would say that is a bonus. These shirts are great for travel, outdoor activities, and casual wear. They have lasted me years and are still my favorite shirts.

In terms of looks and style, the T-shirt is very simple and plain, nothing fancy or crazy. It’s just a T-shirt that fits well. It is extremely versatile, will keep you warm in the winter as a base layer and dries very quickly when you sweat in the summer or use it underneath dry gear in kayaking. In addition, the odor after a long adventure is bearable and much better compared to similar products I have owned in the past. The Tech Lite Short Sleeve Crewe might not seem like much when you first unpack it put I will promise you it will soon be your go-to base layer for every adventure you go on. I bought this owning several other icebreaker shirts for "technical" purposes, i.e. running and backpacking trips. I specifically wanted a light color for summer sun. This one has slightly less elastic and a more relaxed fit than I was hoping for. Well made, comfortable, but probably more for casual use than athletics.

I just got this for my husband as a new alternative to synthetic tech tees and he is sold! These smell less, dry faster, and are super flattering! I have a feeling these will be his go to presents!

I have this and the smartwool equivalent. I actually prefer this shirt, this smartwool has gotten smaller through several wash cycles, while this one has remained true to size. I am sure this is somewhat opinionated, but i think this material is a bit softer on the skin than smartwool. Either way awesome shirt. Can wear it for a week and no stench

The shirts I received are 87% merino wool, 13% nylon (as currently described on icebreaker's website), not 83% merino wool, 12% nylon, 5% Lycra as stated in the description. So they're probably not as stretchy but they do contain a little more merino wool. Sizing is about as I'd expect for a Large with it being a little loose at the neck hole and shorter sleeves. Probably could have gotten away with a Medium. I typically wear a Medium in polo shirts and a Large in tshirts.

Bought this as a gift for my husband - the fabric wicks away moisture, dries quickly, and holds up against stink really well. He wore it for 4 days straight this past weekend (while camping / trail running) and it was in pretty solid condition towards the end of the trip. Kinda gnarly from bug spray and sunscreen, but still solid overall. Sizing is pretty true to fit, but if you're a Smedium, I might recommend going with a small. He bought the medium (and is a Smedium) and it's a shade over-sized on him. Not too bad though!

Quality you can expect from icebreaker and merino wool in general. Wore this thing touring on a yurt trip for 7 days and it barely stunk up. Sizing is spot on and no issues with durability. Would wear this piece in the mountains any time of the year.

Be careful with buying this shirt...you will end up with more. Despite a high price tag, I have yet to come across a t-shirt that equals the Icebreaker Tech Lite. This is just a do-it-all shirt. The wool ventilates well in the Texas heat while keeping me warm on hikes or as a base layer while skiing. It's also sharp enough for street wear. I've already purchased a second one, and I'm sure a third isn't too far away!

I was looking for a T shirt to wear during high output summer activities, as well as just on the daily for working out. This T shirt fits really well, is super soft and light on the skin, and most importantly, resists the funk like a champ! For sizing, I am 6'5 and 200 lbs, the XL fits just about perfectly. Not clingy but not baggy, and with a pretty perfect length as well. Fits a touch smaller than what I would call a standard XL, so keep that in mind when considering size.

I wear these for ski touring, normally a medium, but I buy these in size large. I do throw them in the dryer so they shrink a bit but that's why I size up.

So I have read a few of the reviews below... There is some negative feed back on some small changes on this shirt but I went with it anyway and I have to tell ya... I wouldn't think twice about getting 10 more of the same color! Icebreaker is not new to this and it shows in the comfort and fit of this shirt. Yes its only 83% Merino Wool mix with nylor and Lycra but the comfort is not gone, it still wicks sweat and couldn't be a better choice for an outdoor shirt. What sticks out is the freedom of motion, light feel, breath-ability and soft touch. If you have owned a T-shirt or two you know that comfort and feel surpass looks... but this shirt hits all of that. Athletic fit, functionality and comfort bam! that's all she freaking wrote! When it comes to usage and activities don't even bother thinking about if this is a good choice I promise it will handle whatever it is you are doing unless its 200' of sandstone chimney/ offwidth climbing then yeah!... you might have an issue, but what shirt doesn't get wrecked by that? Conclusion... buy the shirt! Photo Cred: @austintuckermedia if you don't already follow him!

Review from my husband: This will be my 3rd one of these, I used the first two until they were literally falling apart on my back, to the point where I had to put sunscreen under some of the holes. They are wonderful to hike in, ski in, camp in, travel in, live in. If I could afford it I would own 5 of these and never wear anything else. It is a bummer that they are not 100% wool anymore, I have noticed that it does smell a little more than my earlier versions and it is not as soft. Sizing: I am 5'10 150lbs and have had both small and medium. The small is juuust too small for me and the medium feels a little baggy. In the end I am sticking with mediums.

Wore 3 of these during a ROUGH Dall Sheep hunt in alaska. Shot a sheep and then a moose and had to pack them both out a very, very long way. These shirts didnt stink at all at the end of the trip. Would highly rec them. Nik
