Howler Brothers horizon 2.0 hybrid shorts are my new go-to shorts. Pocket layout is perfect with zippers and snaps just where you want them. Fit is perfect for me and runs true to size.

I wear a size 33 waist in just about every brand I've come across. I order these in 34 because 33 was not available at that time. Received the shorts, great material, functional pocket layout, but they felt way bigger than 34. Luckily they have a drawstring so you can cinch them up. Flash forward a month, I decide to order another pair and do so in my usual waist size of 33. They arrive and I can barely button them. I decided to keep them anyway. Just be aware of the somewhat weird sizing. Otherwise, a decent pair of shorts for water fun.

Loved these shorts, which I purchased for a recent trip to a hot, humid tropical country. Could have worn them every day. Loved the zip front pocket on the left side and the fact that they can easily double as swim trunks. Loops inside the pockets also key for securing items and the back pockets also welcome.

The Howler Bros Horizon Hybrid Short is my second foray into what Howler Bros can do as I've already picked up and mostly gushed on them already. The study but light and airy nylon ripstop construction is still there as the short even feels a bit more waterproof than most. The pocket outlay is amazing as well as you get the standard side pockets with a zipper AND button pocket in the back in case you don't want to lose anything. Single button to fly design also feels closed without constriction. Fit wise, the waist is about right as I went with a 34 and that's what it was but the inseam feels a bit smaller as I run around a 33" inseam at 5'11" so it is more like a mid-leg length on me. Still a really good short for sun, surf and fishing.
