I originally snagged one of these 3 years ago and it is still holding up proper despite being dragged through the woods and thrown around in the back of the truck. This has since become a great gift for your fishing pals. Friends thought it was a great idea when they saw me using it on the river, but were not too likely to go out and buy one themselves. So this has become a quick and easy gift for your fly fishing friends, Help them clean up their act!

Small and easy to use. Holds old leaders and pieces of tippet well. Will also hold a snack wrapper if needed.

This is exactly what I needed for holding the fishing line, instead of a tangled mess that always seems to be more out of my vest than inside. Thank you Fishpond for encouraging fishers to pack out what they take in. I just keep it in my fishing vest pocket but it can easily be in pant pockets or belt as well as tied (or zip-tied that it comes with) to outside of a pack or vest. I will be recommending this to all of my fishing friends.

Great for stuffing used leaders and tippet so they don't end up in the river or stream side. It would get 5 stars, but as another reviewer pointed out sometimes the tippet comes back out when you stuff it in with your finger.

Not sure why it took me this long to finally pull the trigger on this little gem! Sure, there are several other methods that may cost less to store your clipped off tippet or leader and any other small trash you come across along your river walks; but this lil pod just makes it easy! Nothing bothers me more on the river than finding that ball of fishing line on the bank or seeing other anglers clipping their tippet off into the water, so i constantly would end the day with mono & flou in every pocket of my waders or shirts that could potentially fall out prior to getting back to the car. This wonderful receptical changes that for sure and provides a great spot to keep the trash until you get home. Worth every penny to help keep your favorite fishing spot a bit cleaner.

You've seen it streamside...discarded mono or flouro. You've also been mildly traumatized yourself when back at the truck, that spider web of extra tippet and wind-knotted leader you dutifully shoved into your pocket is missing...victim to the wind or even displaced pulling your fly box in and out of that same pocket. Enter--the fishpond mono trash thing... Does a good job of just taking and holding small and large lengths of line that you shove down into it. Every once in a while, I'll shove a small piece of tippet down in and it will come back out when I retract my finger--so the solution is not 100% (4-stars--maybe fishpond can keep improving it somehow) but its pretty darn close. Its one of those 'why didn't I think of that' solutions. Get one. Actually get a several--give a couple to your fishing buddies.
