Costas are the gold standard for fly fishing in the tropics or at high altitude! The high contrast, glare reduction and polarization while maintaining good true color can't be beat. Most important is the quality of the optics. The "P" designation is for the plastic lenses which are lighter weight and easily replaced by a number of peers in the market like Natives or Kaenons, but the "G" designation for glass lenses makes these glasses the best on the market. These lenses have the least distortion and the most abrasion resistance of all comparable glasses. Plastic lenses are fine, but the glass lenses are the best if you can afford them.

COSTA is a JOKE to say the least!!! They definitely do not stand behind there warranty. My Frigate 580 frames had a quality defect as well as the leases had bubble like obstructions in the lenses. Costa proceeded to tell me that they were not covered under warranty and Peter White lead warranty repair at Costa told me that the pit marks are from being dropped or from sand hitting them! LOL!!! Imagine that glasses that are designed to be around salt water, beaches etc..and sand causes pits in the lense. I guess that’s the kind of quality you get from Costa when you spend $300 on glasses.. It will definitely be my last pair!! Buy Native or Riley-x… CEO/President- Doesn’t seem to care either..Can’t return a customer e-mail.

If you have eyes and are bothered by the hot, glaring sun on your face, then these are the sunglasses for you -- by far, the best sunglasses I've ever had. P www.shmula.com

This is one of the best pair of sunglasses I have ever owned, especially for their optical clarity. They are very comfortable to wear and are very easy on my eyes during bright sunny days here in the Southwest. The 580 glass has antireflective coating on the back so I don't see reflections behind me and the blue mirrored front lets less light in, not to mention the polarization feature that cuts down on glare. I've already been complimented on how stylish and cool the frame/sunglasses look. This site shipped the same day I ordered (late on a Friday) and I had them on Monday, even with the free economy shipping; unbelievable!
