Black Diamond Half Dome Helmet for Sale, Reviews, Deals and Guides

I used this helmet for two years before buying the Black Diamond Vapor helmet. I wish I bought the Vapor right from the start. It's noticibly lighter, fits better, has better air circulation, and has a lower profile compared to the Half Dome helmet. The half dome fulfills it's function, but there's better helmets out there. My two cents: go with a different helmet.

I brought this helmet with me on a climbing trip in Moab and was able to share with a couple friends because the dial allows for great adjustability. I feel way more comfortable down as a belayer with a helmet on, and this one fits the bill! 10/10 would recommend!

This helmet is the perfect helmet to climb with friends! It’s super easy to adjust with the chin straps and dial adjustment- it fits a wide range of head shapes/sizes. I have a pretty round but average head size and thick hair, and one of my friends had a pretty small/narrow head with thin hair and it fit both of us great! When a few of my friends came in to town (gearless) to visit, this helmet came in clutch and we were all able to use it. The ponytail feature was pretty cool and a beanie/hood fit seamlessly under the helmet too. The Half Dome is lightweight so it’s easy to bring along on any trip and stay better protected!

Fits great, and dial allows comfort fitting for a range of head sizes. We all know that it takes less than a second to knock an errant rock lose and worry about hitting someone below. So protect your noggin just in case you are the person below. It's light weight and i can just clip it onto my backpack to be prepared for any situation i might find myself in!

Of course the best part about this helmet is the ponytail compatibility, but it's also lightweight and looks good. The dial adjustment ensures a perfect fit and the ponytail friendly design really helps with those sweaty days at the crag.

I can't believe there aren't any reviews on this helmet! It's lightweight and the light blue color keeps me cool in the Moab heat. There is also an area for a ponytail/bun to fit under. This is crucial for me cause I have a thick head of hair. Great helmet all around.
