You like to get an early start on your paddling adventures so that by the time your Breaking Branches Whisper Straight Shaft Paddle first breaks the water the sun is barely cresting over the mountains and the placid lake water is bellowing steam into the cold mountain air. The solid two-piece ferrule offers a rock-solid paddling experience as you paddle your boat back into the cat tails where migrating ducks are still feeding. Cold mornings can make aluminum slick, even with gloves on, so the coated grips will be a welcome feature as you paddle back to the dock for a mid-day lunch break.

It is light, breaks down to fit in the trunk, and I haven't broken it yet. Let's be honest, it will get lost before I break it so I'm not too worried about that. I am not a competitive paddler, just using this to get my NRS duckie down the river.

I have two of these paddles. They are great for easy summer paddling. I agree with the previous review, they are durable and lightweight. If you get into any strong wind and waves, on a regular basis, I would recommend a more powerful paddle, with a bigger blade. In this photo, I'm having to use a high angle stroke, to combat the winds. My Aquabound Manta Ray's are much better, in those conditions.

For the price, this paddle is very strong and well made. I like how firm the paddle is when it's put together. Also light weight.
