The Ss.rallytrekkingJersey with Base Layer represents the absolute pinnacle of Assos’ mountain jersey technology. The rally trekking jersey is light, anatomically pre-shaped and protective. This moisture-wicking top layer is specifically designed to keep you cool when partnered with the included Assos Skinfoil baselayer, which uses moisture to either insulate or cool, depending on outside temperatures.

For its rally trekking jersey, Assos uses a synthetic stretch fabric. This smooth polyester material works to transfer moisture at varying rates. When your body is hot, and your perspiration levels are high, the material reacts by accelerating moisture transfer from your skin to the fabric's surface, where it dries quickly. Inversely, when your body cools down, the opposite results, where the evaporation process slows down, using body moisture as a means of retaining warmth.

Assos includes the appropriately sized skinFoil S7 baselayer with the Ss.rally trekking jersey. This baselayer perfectly complements the jersey. Not only does it augment the jersey’s temperature regulation system, but it adds protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays.

The jersey was made with a regular, body-mimicking fit that follows the contours of your torso. Of course, this jersey, like all Assos jerseys, has been designed to accommodate the body within the cycling position. Accordingly, you'll find that the fit feels tight and oddly contoured while standing. However, the moment that you stretch to the hoods or get into the drops, you'll feel that signature Assos "click," and your ride will be guaranteed to be absent of any bunching, chafing, or pinching.

The back of the jersey is made with an open mesh, which acts as a heat exhaust during hot-weather rides. Because of this, however, it provides less sun protection. Again, Assos urges you to wear this jersey with the included baselayer during rides where the sun is a factor.

This is a well thought out (or not!) jersey for MTB, but I'm not sure it fits in any neat category. As usual, the quality from Assos is high (I would say, the Best!). For those who do XC, this jersey is familiar because it is a body tight fit (but not race fit, if you know what I mean). But this jersey is designed for long treks (for me, anything more than 30 miles) and the mesh panels, designed both to vent and to provide padding, in the shoulders and back is perfect for someone wearing a backpack. The quality of the mesh is nothing short of high craftsmanship. I hate to say it, but it's not the perfect XC jersey or the perfect trail jersey. For XC or trail riding, the front panel is not as breathable as I would like. Just for XC riding, it is a heavy jersey for summer riding. However, it is marketed as a trail jersey, and I think it is the Porsche of trail jerseys, but do people who ride trails on their heavy full suspension bikes want to go fast (other than downhill, that is). I often see them taking their time getting to the top and a T-shirt type loose fitting jersey is fine for that. Well, what this jersey appears to be is for an XC rider who wants to ride the downcountry (and everything else) fast wearing a backpack. That's not me because I have no need to wear a backpack riding my XC MTB even for a 30 miles jaunt. But I do appreciate the jersey and it's high quality and craftmanship. It also comes with a summer base layer which really adds value to this product. Sometimes you can over-think and over-engineer a product and miss the big picture as is the case with this jersey. Lately, I have found some use for this jersey in the fall/spr with a gilet or jacket due to the ventilation in the back.

It’s hard to make a MTB Jersey that does it all. This is not your T shirt, rad loose fit freeride Jersey. I have a few other Assos road jersey & I went up 1- 2 size because I often forget the pack & stuff pockets with gear, go for a 2 hour MTB ride. Yes, I want to be able to stand up and the shoulders fit large but body still fits tight, a bit of a looser cut (as I went from L to XLR) or sure. Also do all day, epics with pack, pump, phone, tools, tube, full water & a sandwich, rain shell etc. etc This is with out question, a XC Jersey that has great ventilation and the material is not feather light but keeps you cool into the F90s. I’ll go to this on the scorchers & it does the job. It’s a tight, roady in appearance jersey but Assos consistency delivers a race fit no matter what. Bottom line: Pricy but worth every damn penny. 6’- 168 lbs- 40/42 jacket

Not your normal jersey. This piece is made up of 25 different panels and 6 different textiles, which delivers the perfect design and mobility. The Assos design really stands out once in the riding position. This fit is similar to the old Mangussta or the new Cento and Equipe. I sized the same in them all with very similar fit. It is built with medium weight material, but has thicker material on the shoulders for long days in the saddle with a hydration pack. The back of the jersey is made up of highly breathable mesh that allows for maximum ventilation€,which was questionable when I pulled it out of the box...not going to lie. NS.SKINFOIL_SUMMER_S7 that's included is a great addition. Great jersey on and off the road, 3 pockets in the back w/ a zipper and a reflection strip. Please feel free to contact me if you have questions on these or any other Assos products. I had very high expectations for Assos when I heard that they'd be entering into the mountain bike apparel game. My expectations were exceeeded with this jersey! The mesh ventilation the back and shoulders of this jersey is great. Especially for wearing a pack. The fit is tight and race-oriented; but does fit slightly looser than the typical Assos road jerseys. Paired with the base layer that is provided, this is my favorite XC oriented mountain jersey!
