The Women's H UmaShortsGT S7 from Assos proves you can leave the bibs behind and still get the comfort and support you want and need, helping you perform your best on solo efforts or during challenging road races. Features like the revolutionary goldenGate chamois construction method allow the Swiss manufacturer the ability to attach the chamois at the front and rear while leaving the sides free to float with your body instead of against it. This all but eliminates friction from the chamois and shorts eradicating skin irritation in sensitive areas. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we're seeing similar construction from other manufacturers but Assos is often the one who does it first and continues to do it the best. After all, Assos was the first company to bring a lycra cycling short to market. The lack of bibs allows these shorts to remain comfortable during warm rides and make stopping for nature breaks a little easier. Whether these are your first pair of cycling shorts or a pair that you picked up for everyday training or racing, these bibs will serve you well for summer century rides or indoor spin classes in the winter.

Assos is known by its self-appointed name "the shorts company," and over its 40 years of experience, it has construction and materials dialed. The fabric utilized is known as Type.439 Diadema which Assos created in collaboration with its fabric suppliers to specifically meet its rigid demands for performance, comfort, and durability. The weave has two different rates of 4-way stretch which requires expertise to craft into shorts. This compressive material is arranged anatomically so your body fits into the shorts, rather than the other way around. While the panels do their jobs supporting and compressing muscles helping to reduce fatigue and encouraging recovery, a wrap-knit fabric known as aeroFit, is utilized in a double layer for the legs and abdominal area as it has a specific structure that aids in ventilation while gently contouring to your shape and prevents any unrestricted movement while reaching for the bars or climbing out of the saddle. Assos treats the shorts with a fabric treatment known as iceColor that reflects sunlight and thus reduces heat absorption to keep muscles cooler.

In addition to the goldenGate tech mentioned above, the H UmaShortsGT S7 brings a women's specific UMA insert which is cut narrow in the front to reduce bulk and increase comfort. The same _s7 chamois technology found throughout Assos' men's line is utilized here with the 8mm-thick memoryFoam material with remarkable return properties. It quickly resumes its original position and shape after deformation, filling the gaps between body and chamois created by your pedal stroke while your weight shifts throughout the cycling motions. As you can imagine, the free-floating, goldenGate design also facilitates this gap-free fit, which keeps contact constant, to avoid chafing.

Finally, the superAir and waffle construction of the insert's layers warrant a shout out as they increase breathability and shed weight with negative space. They also effectively increase the material's surface area, transporting moisture away from your skin to accelerate drying for hours of comfort that go beyond what the insert's low weight would suggest. As a final measure, Assos treats the insert with odorControl, an anti-bacterial treatment that reduces unpleasant odors while improving durability.

I so wanted to love these shorts. Any ride over 6 miles and my crotch literally goes numb. Maybe they run small or maybe the chamois is the culprit, but they are going to in the charity bag :(

I kept these shorts but they are not my favorite. They definitely are relaxed fit like the description said so if you have any kind of belly these will not pull up over it. I ordered a large and I am 5'7 134 lbs and they seem small to me.

They are incredibly small- I think I probably need to size up twice! They were also see through, so I returned them!

I never used this brand but since everyone recommends it, I decided to try. This model runs a bit smaller than others. Lengs seems shorter. Based on measurements I'm M size but may be L could be better.

I've worn Pearl Izumi, Louis Garneau, SheBeest, and Sugoi. But these shorts--this brand--is head and shoulders above the rest in quality and comfort. Just wore my new Huma shorts yesterday for the first time on a 3 hour ride. Chamois is sooo comfortable, never bunched, great for touring and long distance. Good ventilation. The fit of the short is excellent--- less seams than other brands I've tried, NO sausage leg, smooth fitting leg cuff, comfortable waist band. The waist band rolled a little on me but no big deal, still comfy. Runs a bit small: I'm 5:6", 154 lbs, athletic build, muscular thighs. I usually wear a medium in most brands (Garneau, Sugoi), but I definitely needed a Large in this short. Fabric is smooth, cool, wicks and dries quickly. The best summer touring short! I think I may buy a second pair at this amazing sale price. Oh, FYI: it's almost like there's a extra stitch in the leg seam just above the leg cuff. At first I thought that seam was extra tight and I wouldn't even be able to get the shorts on. but then both seams popped! and suddenly the seam was stretchy and normal. No sign of damaged seams or loose threads. I think it's some sort of magic so they know if the shorts have been tried on or not???

I've worn Assos for years and love them and these are no exception. The length in great, fit is awesome. The front waist band is very comfortable when in the riding position. I originally ordered a medium which is what I've always worn in Assos but they were too small. Called got great customer service and ordered the large. Will probably order a second pair.

Ordered a L - need an XL, I'm 5'9" and weigh 175. I also have a long waist and there is no way that I would be comfortable in these for very long as the front is short waisted. The Chamois tho! I wish they had some other styles with this chamois - it was exactly what I wanted. Longer and more coverage and very soft without being bulky.
