This med kit definitely adds some security on those backcountry outings. Some things that I love about it are that it has plenty of organization and it is easy to access things in a tricky situation. The day tripper allowed me enough room to stow a small lighter and small multitool in there. Compared to other med kits I've used, it is way easier to access everything without having to dump the whole thing out. This is an essential piece of gear to throw in your pack.

I've liked how it opens up into individual organized pouches. I keep this in the car and it packs up nice in the glove box. Its a nice simple kit. I bit expensive for what you really end up with. I'd like to see a little more trauma related components for the price.

Its missing real essentials that you'd actually need on a trail like a splint, tourniquet, more trauma pads, more medications. The biggest dangers on the trail; rocks, animals, insects, falls, exposure. A few tiny band aids are nice. But won't help you if you're really hurt out there.

*** I am Reviewing the Explorer ( 4 people 7 Days )... It's always important to be prepared for anything, most importantly the bad. This pack is organized by INJURY for FAST & EFFECTIVE First Aid! On the back, it shows what is in each pocket and purpose! It also shows how many items you have! I have included a picture of the back for further explanation!

this one was a no brainer for me. having a small medkit in my pack has been a must for a long time, but ive never had a medkit that was this comprehensive. This kit will keep you prepared with the essentials, but wont bog you down with the unnecessary stuff. Very well organized and labeled for quick access. Stocked to the brim for sure. I mostly use the one off pain relievers and small time bandages in these kits, but if anything goes SUPER wrong, theres items within to begin the stabilization process for sure. Would recommend this kit for anyone doing anything in the outdoors.

Often my friends will go on most of their adventures without any sort of medical kit. More often then not it is because they don't want to carry the extra weight/ take up more space or they do not wish to spend the money. This kit is lightweight, compact, and fair priced. Do yourself a favor and pick one up. Your mom will be happy and if you ever need to use it , you will too. It is a great place to start.

This med kit is a staple in my pack. Luckily, I have never had to put it to use. I love the fact that it is compact, yet has all of the necessities. Many of my friends hike without a med kit, but I was a boy scout and am always prepared. I will sacrifice a bit of weight in my pack rather than risk being stranded without first aid.

I got the 2 person backpacker. has all the staples, and the kit is a great organized design as a starting place for adding other items as needed! throw it in your touring, backpacking, climbing, or rafting pack and make your mom feel better.
