The Wild Country Pro Lite Belay Device sports a lightweight design with re-worked internals, which allow the device to accept everything from skinny alpine cords to 10mm sport ropes. A flat base eliminates drag when extra rope is needed, while efficient braking slots bring the rope to a quick stop when the time comes.

Full Reviews
Item shipped does not have the carabiner hole on the end so that it can be used in guide mode belaying off the anchor. Also, it has braking slots, not 'breaking slots'.

I have used a lot of ATC's over the years for canyoneering and my favorite for years has been the Wild Country VC Pro II... and then the made it better!!! The Pro Lite is the exact same, but has some holes cut out in the side walls to shave some weight. The huge benefit of the VC Pro II/Pro Lite over other brands/models is that downward curve in the side. The benefit to that is if you are on a high rappel or a skinny rope, you can hook up on the ribbed side for more friction when you get near the bottom of the rap, but move the rope off to the side on that smooth downward side for less friction when starting your rappel. ATC's also don't twist the heck out of your rope like 8's do. I have gone through lots of the ATC's and the ribbed area is the first to wear out so you don't need to worry about the big holes in the side causing problems or failing on you. This is my go to Rappel Device for Canyoneering. LOVE IT!!!
