You know that mega-stack of pre-ride pancakes is just a sugar crash waiting to hit you thirty minutes into the ride, so skip the heavy carbs, opt for a light breakfast, and take just the maple syrup with you to go with UnTapped's Maple Syrup Athletic Fuel. We admit that we never expected to see "maple syrup" and "athletic" in the same product title, but — as Cannondale-Garmin's resident Renaissance man, Mr. King himself, assures us — syrup is "virtually the same as what you're taking when you're taking an individual gel pack," noting that, "inherently, it just makes sense." This never occurred to us because we're cyclists, not nutritional scientists, but leave it to a family collective of flannel enthusiasts in New England to make the connection between two of their passions: syrup and sport.

Got it as a gift, but also tried one! I don't use them much, but the flavor is very tasty! I got it for my dad that has loved GU fruit energy for long runs or ski tours. He loved the variety of maple flavor and that is all-natural made in Vermont! I would highly recommend!

Use these on my rides and they are amazing. Even better, when you make a set of flapjacks and forget to bring the syrup, you'll have one of these right by your side. Seriously, it's just pure maple syrup it's great!

Perhaps its my upbringing in northern climates, my time spent living among the Sugar Maple in pine cabins, time spent making pancakes in the backcountry...whatever the reason may be: I. Love. Maple Syrup! Finally, my favorite condiment/beverage/topping is available in ultra-convenient packaging and sizing for on-the-go use. UnTapped nails the quantity of this Grade A Maple Syrup, making it perfect for your pack or pocket for longer efforts. The top tab can be a bit tough to tear off, but once you have accessed the sweet delights of this Vermont staple, YUM. I find these to help me push through longer rides, and maintain energy a lot more predictably than some more space-age gel options out there. Plus, they work great in a pinch for mornings of French Toast breakfast when you've otherwise run out of Maple Syrup.

These taste great, I usually go with honey stinger and these are right up there. Only issue is that the perforated mark to tear off and slurp these down is a little high so sometimes the packet does open up enough. Other than that I love the taste.

Like the taste and easy on the stomach, but messy while on the move.

Real maple syrup. Do we need to say more? Clean, organic energy in an easily digestible form. Tasty, smooth flavor. Untapped has hit a home run with this stuff! Primarily use as a primary source of quick energy on bike.

Though I was skeptical at first of the merits of straight maple syrup for on bike fuel, I'm now a true believer in the energy super fuel that is 100% New England maple Syrup. Exceptionally tasty, quick to digest, and doesn't leave your stomach with sugar rot on the longer rides. These are perfect for quick and tasty energy boost on the go. Try the waffles as well....incredible!
