You know some of the best snow can be found on cold, gray days, so the threat of stormy skiing won't keep you away from the resort. The North Face Freedom Insulated Pant offers a DryVent membrane to keep you dry and the Heatseeker insulation provides low-profile warmth to keep you comfortable on cold chairlift rides. When you venture out on a couple of burly runs, the Chimney Ventilation system and inner thigh vents dump heat so you can cool off without having to strip layers. The articulated knees offer freedom of movement as you navigate those difficult lines and the cargo and hand pockets store your snacks so you can refuel on the lifts. When you find yourself in powder pockets, the StretchVent gaiters with gripper elastic keep the flakes from creeping into your pant legs so you can stay warm and dry the whole day on the slopes.

I picked these up for my daughter who is tall and very thin. It has been all but impossible to find pants (of any kind) that provide the length she needs without being huge and baggy on her. These proved to be the answer! In an XS Long, these were exactly what we needed!

I must say, I wouldn't pay full retail for these pants. Within a similar price range, you can find better quality pants- more durable material, more pockets, etc. However, at a price point of under $100 (winter sale), these are definitely worth it. Comfortable, warm, and a variety of sizes. I am 5 foot 5 and ordered the short size

Perfect fit! Completely waterproof throughout the whole day and keeps you warm while falling on snow and sitting here. Also stylish. 100% recommend

I bought (and returned) probably 10 pairs of ski pants in search of something that fit and would be warm enough. I am 5'3 and about 135 lbs. and bought medium/short. The fit and the length were perfect. I skied in them two days and stayed warm and dry. It was not particularly cold (mid to high 20's) but snowed a lot the first day. I wore mid-weight long underwear and was very comfortable. I tend to equate bulk with warmth and was initially worried that anything that light weight could be warm enough but I was pleasantly surprised.

I am 5'0" and weigh about 90 lbs. I struggle to find pants that do not require tailoring, so I was hopeful when I found that TNF offers "short" sizes. I bought the XS/Short, and they fit great when I wear winter hiking books (ahnu sugarpine, low heel). I bought them for our trip to Colorado this month. I was very pleased with the warmth they provided both on snow hikes in RMNP and while skiing at Copper Mountain! During our trip, CO had the biggest snow storm of the season, but I was very comfortable with just one layer (thermal leggings) underneath! I would absolutely recommend these for similar activities! They would also be great for cold weather camping. I was able to put my lift ticket in the pants pocket and the RFD had no trouble finding it. There is an elastic band to keep the snow out and an adjustable velcro waistband, so I did not need a belt. I may purchase these in another color for next season! (This product was purchased with my husband's account, so this review will have a man's name).

They are roomy for a small in a comfortable way. I don't like that everything sticks to them, like lint, dust, etc. They were in my bag with my coat which has a fur hood. That was all over them. I bought black, it's a matte black and you see everything on them. Also, skied in the northeast on a warm day (46 degrees) and my butt and legs were cold. I wear heat gear leggings under and I was still cold on the chair lift. Not a fan of these so far.

I love the flattering fit of all Northface pants. But these also happen to have insanely gigantic flares at the bottom of the pant legs. Think 1970s bell bottoms.

I am 5'3" tall and 136 lb. I ordered the size Medium Short Freedom Insulated Pants. The length is fine. However, there are much too tight for me to even zip up. I am sending them back to Backcountry in an even exchange for the Large Short ones. When I called, the customer service "gear head" was very helpful.

I have a hard time find a snowpant that fits well, but these fit great! Not to snug, but still a flattering slim fit. Good mobility and keeps you warm on those colder days out on the slopes.

I tried on so many pants and they were way too smal in the legs. These fit perfect! True to the measurements and looks liong without squeezing me!

Bought these as a gift and found out they run a bit small. Sizing up a size from your normal is probably a good idea.

I bought the freedom pant in a medium tall after trying on the small in the store. I’m 5’9” 130 pounds with a 33 inseam. The small fit nicely over leggings but it was snug around my waist. I ordered a medium hoping it would be slightly looser for skiing . The mediums are bigger for sure. Very very loose in the legs and behind so would probably work for somebody with a big booty and thighs. Only reason I’m keeping them is because the waist is adjustable and if I cinch them on both sides they work. The fig color is really nice and tall length is ok but I wish they were an inch or 2 longer. I really wish there was a size between a small/medium or that maybe there was some stretch to the waist.

Warm and fit great. More fitted at the waist and thighs but will be perfect for snowboarding! Generally wear a 4-6. Definitely run small, the medium fits snug (but still comfortable) but large are too big

Kudos to The North Face for making a quality ski pant that fits my athletic legs. At 5'1'' / 5'2'' 136lbs finding pants is so difficult. Ordered the Medium/Short and they are PERFECT especially with the adjustable waist as mine tends to be proportionally smaller than my legs / butt. These are as flattering as insulated snow pants get. Can't attest to the warmth yet but I have a little wiggle room just in case I need / want to put leggings on underneath. Looking forward to taking these for a test run this weekend!

Fits great, allows for great movement without constricting me. Bought the long size so I can make sure to cover my ski boots and it worked I've stayed warm at the resort skiing in 20 degree weather.

I purchased these pants because I was in need of a new pair of ski pants for the upcoming season. I have a hard time shopping in stores for these because I am only 5'2" and stores only tend to carry regular and long length pants. I am happy to say these fit perfectly in length for me! I tested these out the other day for a day of messing around on a snowboard for the first time. I sized up to a large to adjust for various levels of inner layering. These fit great and the adjustable waist helps when adjusting to fit whatever you are wearing under the ski pants. It wasn't super cold that day, so the thigh vents came in handy. These kept me warm and dry, even with sitting in the snow for decent periods of time, between falling and resting. The performance of the pants were great, with as much falling as I went through, no snow got to my inner layers. The only con would be that it does attract pet hair, but that is an easy fix with a lint roller or just playing out in the snow! Overall, I would highly recommend these for anyone who is planning on any sort of snow adventures.

I bought these for bbn my sister and this is her review: "These pants are so warm and comfortable. They fit just right and I like that I can get the "short" size so that they aren't dragging on the ground when I'm wearing just regular snow boots instead of ski boots. They have so many pockets zippers which is great. they are big enough for phones, wallets, etc."
