Whether you are planning a remote surf trip on the south side of the equator or headed out to your favorite camping site for the weekend, The North Face’s versatile Base Camp Duffel is your go-to luggage for adventure traveling. It’s durable water-resistant material and zipper flap coverage protects your gear when waves splash against the water-taxi or from dusty bursts of wind in the desert. The alpine-cut shoulder straps provide a comfortable ergonomic fit that leaves your hands free for holding your passport and bus ticket. Internal zippered pocket and side compartment help separate your damp swim suit from your clean underwear and the easy to spot ID tag makes your bag easy to identify because your travel companion most likely brought the same bag.

Having used this bag and a Patagonia back of a similar ilk recently - I must say that I liked the functionality of this bag a little better! It was tough, rugged and perfectly simplistic. If you're looking for a burly bag that packs a punch, this one is top of the line!

I love this bag. I was looking for something a bit bigger than my daypack to fit all the gear I need for a weekend trip. This thing is tough and I love having the duffel plus the backpack straps. I also like having the separate compartment at the end. Get compliments on this bag every time I use it as well- who wouldn't want it?

This is the most durable duffel bag on the market. Feels like military grade materials, and the comfortable backpack straps are crucial. Quality product!

Best travelling companion! I'm just going to say this.. BETTER than the Patagonia Black Hole Duffel. The design of the top loading zipper, pockets, and super thick nyon is very comparable to the Black Hole. However, the main difference that sets this duffel apart is the shoulder straps! They are so comfortable, even with decent amount of weight. They are way less flimsy than the Black Hole, and I was quite content carrying this as a backpack with 35 pounds. Inital impressions-- I could beat the heck out this bag for years!

Just got back from my surf trip in Mexico, and this duffel was fantastic. I used it as my wet suit and bootie bag so that I would keep the rest of my stuff dry. The material of this bag was proof and did the job. I loved how I could alter the size with the side straps as well as the backpack straps for easy transportation.

The duffel has been a great companion on outdoor trips since it seals out dust and rain drops, and has likewise been used for international/air travel without any issues. The durable construction makes me think this pack will last for yeaars, and means that while others are going through generations of duffels/luggage, you'll only be buying one.

This duffel is super durable and the fabric is water resistant. There are backpack style straps that make it easier to carry. It also has other straps that you can cinch the bag down with. Bonus, its easy to find at the luggage claim in airports!

I believe this is the best outdoor duffel on the market! It has a pocket, is durable, weather resistant, and is fairly comfy as a backpack. You can toss it around and feel comfortable that you are not ruining anything. I have 2 different sizes for different uses.

This duffel is back at again, just in a larger size! These duffels never disappoint and will last you for years to come! I still have my original 50L from almost 20 years ago, that was a hand-me-down from my older sister! It has traveled the world and is still in great shape!

this bag is all you need. you have the space you need, with the durability for it to be your go to bag for 10+ years if not longer. I am always chucking stuff in my smaller one for weekend getaways and use this for my weeklong needs. The north face crushed it with this duffel.

The most I've stuffed in it were 2 snowboard helmets, snowboard gear (minus boots), 4 days worth of clothes, and basic essentials with room to spare. If you're looking for a seriously bad ass duffel with style, get this one.

First off, this is the best duffel from all the brands out there. I have all the major brands. It is durable, has backpack straps, and has a REAL POCKET. Other bags might be comfier on the back but it is hard to organize things since they do not have a nice side pocket. This bag is durable and I use it for everything from climbing to airline travel. Buy one if you need a durable duffel.

Yes, the zippers are stubborn and the shoulder straps are flimsy but simple to remove. But this is a duffel you can beat up on with no worries if it can take the beating = it CAN. Side pocket perfect for your shoes - climbing shoes OUT, approach/street shoes IN. Inside end mesh pocket perfect for GriGri and its carabiner. Room for all your equipment and a change of clothes. Oh, BTW: the mesh bag it comes in is perfect for storing your harness! The 71 liter size is good for travelling, since it bridges the gap between 60 liters and 90 liters in the Patagonia Black Hole duffel line. You might want to get this in an inobtrusive color so as not to attract the attention of the TSA or your airline re: size. If you don't like the NF backpack straps for travelling, then get a Shoulder Strap and clip it, diagonally across the top of the bag, into the tough fabric loop nearest the fixation point for the NF backpack straps you removed before you departed for the airport. That's what I did........

I meant to add that the bag itself is great but in 2018 that strap system is ridiculous. That’s why such a low rating from me. If you’re never going to remove the straps and you’re used to North Faces zippers you’ll love it. Great looking too!

Typical North Face bag. Bulletproof, zipper a little hard to use (but in my experience never fails) and simple design inside. One big pocket basically which I like. The problem is the shoulder straps are annoying and slow to remove. Especially when you have to do it last minute boarding a plane. I knew this when I bought it from another review. No one to blame but myself but I should have returned it immediately for a bag with proper snap fasteners.

I really love this duffel!! Its durable and comes in some many cool colors. The only thing I have a problem with is the zipper is not as smooth as I would like. The Patagonia bags are better in that regard but they are not as durable. Overall I would recommend this bag.

These bags are so nice. They are the toughest things around. It is literally probably bomb proof, I didn't try it out but I am almost positive it is. I use it to put all my ski stuff in, and it fits everything boots, and all. I would highly encourage anyone to get this bag.

I love this duffel. It’s sturdy and looks great. The Medium is perfect size – can fit plenty in there for a week long, or more, trip, and still feels ok to wear on my back.
