The weather conditions during the shoulder seasons can certainly be a mixed bag. Some days bring much-needed warmth and sunshine while other days are windy, cool, drizzly affairs, and it's not uncommon to have either extreme on the same ride. You've got some lofty goals for the season so skipping out on a training day isn't an option and you can't fathom the thought of another mundane session on the indoor trainer. Pick up Sportful's Hot Pack Ultralight Jacket and have protection on hand if the precipitation does fall, yet it packs up small and light enough it's not a burden to carry if it's not needed.

Sportful constructs the jacket from its lightly stretchy Hot Pack Ultralight fabric and the entire jacket weighs in at a silly 58 grams. The material is windproof and highly water-resistant but unlike lesser jackets, it won't leave you a clammy mess. It features laser-cut vents with reflective trim and a bonded finish on the back and sides to help ventilate heat. A full-length zipper allows for easy on and off while riding and lets you keep it on, zipper open, for an extended climb and zip it back up as you drop elevation.

The Hot Pack Ultralight is cut to fit while in the riding position and offers protection from the elements while on the bike. Elastic cuffs and hem keep the jacket in place and prevent and wind drafts and water ingress. When the skies finally clear, it folds up into its own pocket and doesn't take up much real estate in a jersey pocket.

The Men's Sportful Hot Pack Ultralight Jacket is available in sizes X-Small to 3X-Large and in the colors Black and White.

5'9" 195lbs usually order XL this jacket I purchased XXL and it was extremely tight. Good quality just very small.

The above description of the jacket is already pretty thorough. I would say this is the lightest, most insubstantial jacket I've come across. It could fit inside your saddle bag with ease, not to mention your back pocket. Please be aware that Sportful tops run small. Pretty much all of my cycling tops/jackets/vests are Medium. I got a Med Sportful long-sleeve base layer last winter and it's super tight. So I got this one in Large and it's still pretty small. Luckily I don't have any upper body muscle otherwise I'd probably need an XXL (I'm 6'2").
