Best base layer I own. I also own a Patagonia and a Columbia base layer and This is my new favorite. Took it skiing twice and winter hiking once. Didn't even need a mid layer when skiing right around 35ish F. I just coupled it with a hard shell. Hiking was also great. Similar temperature and I mostly worn a soft shell over it and I was good until I reached the top. Highly recommend it.

Great build quality, comfortable fit and warm, versatile temperature regulation. Really like the hoodie style, and love the thumb holes in the cuffs. Great base layer.

It's a perfect base layer. It's slim fitting but long enough, I am 6'3 200 pounds and tucked in it hasn't moved in back and the sleeves are surprisingly long considering it's a large. It's everything amazing about pure merino we all love. One thing to note though, it's not a hoodie the way you think of a hoodie. When zipped up and hood on my wife said I looked like an astronaut with everything but a helmet on and after looking at a picture I can't really argue that. Not that I would, it's meant to be the bottom layer and it does a great job of it and I'll be ordering another one soon,

This hoodie is basically the 250 baselayer with some extra features like the nice long cuffs with thumb holes, a quarter zip, and a hood. This could easily stand in for a base layer as the hood is low profile and also doesn't take up much room when not in use. The hood would fit nicely under a helmet or another jacket's hood. Overall, it feels well made with a lot of nice details. I typically get smartwool baselayers in a size small for a pretty skin tight fit, but I went with a medium on this more a more standard hoodie fit.

Great shirt. The wool is super soft yet somehow still very durable. The hood is a great touch to take off that little bit of chill on a fall evening or even better on a frigid night when you want a liner for you big puffy hood. Its like a little hug for your head. Hand panty thumb holes are ALWAYS appreciated and this hoodie has them. The fit is just slim enough to make it athletic for climbing in but relaxed enough you don't look like eurotrash at the crag.
