You have a nice rod, a smooth reel, and a deluxe line, but without a quality RIO Powerflex Trout Leader, you won't have much of anything when it comes to the fish count at the end of the day. The Powerflex can turn over heavy indicators and cut through the wind as well as gently deliver the most delicate of dry flies.

You just can't beat Rio products. It doesn't matter what you are looking for in a leader, they have the quality to provide for exactly what you need. Just picked up the 9ft 4x leader for some dry fly action and this leader provides.

Rio is an industry standard when it comes to leaders and tippet materials. Pretty much all things line, look to Rio. I prefer mono filament leaders, and will pretty much always buy them in a 7.5 ft length. Reason being, you can add tippet to your 7.5 ft length and create a leader of any length for any fishing situation without cutting into the manufactured tapered leader. Thus, you are left with a leader that essentially is untouched except for the blood/ double surgeons knot used to attach the tippet. More bang for your buck!

I accidentally purchased a single leader intending to purchase a three pack. It's more economical, and always nice to have a backup (or two!!) if Ive caught myself in a snag or have otherwise fouled my leader. Still a trustworthy product, even if there's only one in the pack!

I love these leaders and at the price I often go through these faster than I should, just because I am lazy and don't always want to add tippet. The 3 pack on a different page is a good option for the utility sizes like 4x or 5x, and I use these single packs for sizes I don't fish as often, such as 2x,3x, 7x. One tip is to string up your rod first thing on a trip or when you get to the water before you put on your waders, set up camp, etc. That will help reduce the coiled line memory and you will get better presentation.

I love rio leaders. I feel like they work even better once they sit in the water for a bit when they are new. Once they are broken in your unstoppable.
