Designed for the newer angler, the Redington Crosswater Outfit with Crosswater Reel offers a user-friendly experience that balances performance with ease of use. The medium-fast action of the Crosswater rod has the power to extend the distance of your cast, while maintaining a forgiving nature for beginners. The Crosswater reel has a durable composite design with a strong disc drag system, giving you the stopping power you need when you surprise yourself by setting the hook. This reel easily converts between right- and left-handed retrieve, so you can figure out which side you like best. The outfit comes pre-spooled with RIO’s MainStream floating fly line, which is an all-around line that optimizes the performance of a novice caster.

This is a great beginner setup. Has all the essentials with fairly high quality components. Highly recommend the medium action for those that are prone to set a bit too hard and fast.

Gifted one of these bad sticks to my cousin who has been wanting to get out on the river! She's never fished before and loves it. Always been a fan of redington!

You don't have to drop your whole wad to get started fly fishing. This Crosswater setup will get you outdoors NOW! Beautiful blue color and when I got it, it came with everything. Just opened the box, put it together, tied a fly on the end of my leader and was all ready to go fishing; smooth and accurate. Caught a nice brown my first day using it on the Provo.
