Love Patagonia! Their products are such great quality and I've had pieces by them that last 10 years plus! Bit pricey for a vest, so bought this during a holiday sale and absolutely love it. I'm 5'3", 115 lbs and a size small fit perfectly over sweaters and under my coat. I wear it in the house or as a layer when going out. Perfect piece!

I already had this vest in grey and now just purchased in black (so I have some advice since I have had it in another color for years). I'd say it runs TTS - I am 138lb, 34B, 28 waist and medium fits me perfectly. Size up if you want it looser and more oversized, but the medium is fitted but comfortable for me (not tight). Thought the black would be a bit speckled based on some pictures but it's pure black which I love. It looks really flattering on. It's warm but very lightweight. I wouldn't recommend if you're hoping it will keep you warm in super cold weather - I'd say it's perfect for fall in Colorado (where I am) or in winter time I sometimes wear it under a heavy coat to provide extra warmth. Good quality, feels soft. One tip - I washed/dried my grey vest a ton and it pilled badly and is not as soft anymore. I'm planning on taking better care of this black one and not drying it. I think you could still wash on cold/delicate but just hang to dry. One of my staple pieces of clothing, I wear it ALL the time. Go for it!

Returning because the armholes are cut differently. It is noticeably asymmetrical when I put it on. I am hoping this is just a defective garment. Re-ordering and crossing my fingers the replacement will be higher quality. Regardless of the symmetry issue, the armholes are cut quite roomy, so I have a feeling this would fit better on a bustier build. Will update if possible once the exchange is made.

I have the various types of vest from Patagonia and this one doesn’t disappoint. I wanted a thin non-bulky looking vest to wear with thin tops or sweater dress. I sized up to M based on the reviews but exchanged for size small, my normal Patagonia size. It is very stretchable and the slim fit looks the best for my intended purpose. I am 5’4”, 129lbs with broad shoulders, B-C cup.

I have one of these myself, but also think this is a great gift since it adds a layering option to anyone's closet. The versatility of the vest is really what sells it - you can layer it under a ski shell for some late spring skiing days or you can pop it over a L/S top when you are out on the town. It does fit a bit slimmer so if you want to layer it over bulky tops, I would size up!

This is my second Better Sweater Vest. Perfect for Los Angeles "winters" or as a layer when I visit CO. 37" chest, 28" waist, Size M. Washes well; no dryer. I can't wear scratchy materials, but this vest is quite soft, even when the high collar is zipped to the top.

My niece loves it but I wish I would of bought it in a size bigger because it seemed to run very small/snug

This has great potential but one of the arm holes is much larger than the other and gapes.

I gave this as a gift to my Grandma for Christmas and she loves it! She mentioned that she loved the fleece lining on the inside as well as the soft exterior that provides great warmth as a mid- layer. I bought her a large she's about 5'7" and it definitely runs true to size.

Patagonia makes great stuff, but you already knew that. If your into vests, you won't do any better! I picked up one of these for my girlfriend, and she loves it. Sizing is consistent with the rest of Patagonia's lineup.

I bought this for my wife, this is what she had to say "The Patagonia better sweater vest, like the other items in the Patagonia better sweater line, does not disappoint! It is an attractive layering piece that is multifunctional fall through spring. It looks great with a baselayer or flannel underneath. I do find that the better sweaters pill quite easily once washed and especially once dried, so maybe find a different way to wash your item. Otherwise, you can easily remove the pills via several methods. I love the grey color, as it never looks dirty no matter how many times or how long you wear it! It fits similarly to most other Patagonia items, if you know your size, but it seems to be a standard or almost relaxed fitting line rather than a trim fit. I gave this as a gift and she had this to sat: The ad says it mimics wool and I think it does too but with the advantages of polyester. It does have a nice trim fit but that is what I want. The fabric is nice, warm and the inside is soft/fuzzy/warm to boot. Overall a great vest to add to my collection.

This is my new go-to piece for fall. It is perfect to wear over flannels or long-sleeve t-shirts. I normally wear a medium in Patagonia/most other brands, and this vest seems to fit true to size. The material is cozy and stretchy, without feeling bulky. The cut is typical Patagonia, which is slightly boxy. If you wanted the vest to fit more form-fitting, then maybe size down. However, if I sized-down, I think it would be too short on me. I bought this in the Pelican color, which is a tan/cream color. I was a little hesitant about the color, but it looks really good on. Highly recommend!

I always bring this vest with me for walking my dog or hiking. The pockets are convenient for carrying my phone and keys, and the fit is perfect for layering over a sweater. My go-to for skiing as well!
