Got this bad boy in the mail last night! Took it to Joshua tree the next day for some over night fun. It’s soft. Just the right warmth. I’m 5’4 & 180lbs. I ordered a XXL because I wasn’t sure how my body shape would fit Patagonia. So comfy. I could have went with a XL but I’m glad I didn’t. I have enough room for layers but enough material to keep me cozy. Highly recommend!

I'm obsessed with this fleece jacket. The fit is really flattering and comfortable, the material is soft and cozy, and it seems like really fantastic quality. Small note in response to previous reviews: this is NOT a used product. As the product description says, this fleece is made with recycled materials, making it eco-friendly. It isn't previously owned or worn.

I am extremely disappointed in Backcountry. I purchased the Women's Better Sweater 1/4-Zip Fleece and what I received was a refurbished product. This should have been disclosed in the product information. When I received the product it was very obvious that it was not the top quality you expect from Patagonia/Backcountry. I am returning the sweater and will never make another purchase from Backcountry!

This is the first pullover I’ve ordered in the “better sweater” style. I read a lot of reviews that said it ran small. (I’m typically a medium in other Patagonia pullovers I have). I sized up to a large. The large is actually pretty big, I’m not sure if different colors run smaller, but I ordered the “woolly blue” and it’s pretty oversized in the shoulders and the body. It’s even long enough I could wear with leggings. I feel like it may look awkward with jeans because it’s so long. Definitely a different fit for sure! I think I could size down to the medium and still have a loose fit. For reference I’m 5’3, 150lbs and typically a small-medium in tops and 6-8 in jeans. Maybe people who are saying to size up are more busty than I am? I would stick with your normal size unless you want a baggy/oversized fit. I wanted it to be loose enough to wear a shirt under, but not baggy. I will probably keep to wear with leggings because I don’t want to deal with the return process and it was a good price.

I would deffinetly get another.. Actually, I'm looking for a 2nd one. I've washed twice, and it pills. I did no put it through the dryer, hang dry. Good for biking, it has become my go to as far as hoodie/everyday active sweater goes. I wish it had a hood.. I wish it had more pockts; but I knew that before purchase. This is a warm, but not quite warm enough, it's June, I took it camping and I still was cold.. Don't expect to layer under it, I'm glad to finally find a brand that also offers xs & xxs sizes. I think the ragalan sleeves might be the only reason i can comfortably wear the smaller sizes. Usually, smaller sizes fit my body everywhere except shoulders and underarms/chest. This actually fits! The sleeves are a good long length.

Warm layer with just a t-shirt for Spring in Colorado. Form-fitting especially around the arms but keep your arms warm.

I ordered this sweater in a M. should I have? No. I wanted a particular color and it was only available in XXS, S, M. I am on the fence with sizing both top and bottom, and I straddle M and L on most sizing charts. I am bigger around the middle (thanks kids!) than I should be in relation to the rest of my measurements; I am perfectly M across the top, XL in the middle , and L at the hip. So, buying tops is a nightmare. Based on my experience with Patagonia, they have made tops/jackets that fit well enough I fully expected to be pushing the limits of my ability to fit a M, but the fit on this thing is just bizarre. I loved the color, loved the style, it's super soft. It is described as fitted, and its is...through the body. The length is good, which is another problem I run into. It fits below a low waist, but not as far as a proper hip. The shoulders and arms are a completely different story. If the body of this top is good on you, the rest is simply going to be too big. Where the body was tight enough to show my inny through, the shoulders and arms still had some room, enough for a lightweight base layer. The arms are long enough to cover half my hand. (My ape index is 1:1) I know I'm just asking for it, but I ordered another in a L. Bottom line: It's quality. Give it a try. Don't hold your breath.

I paid $45.18, which I should have known was too good to be true. What I got was worn wear, although that was not mentioned anywhere in the product description or sale price and backcountry doesn't have Patagonia listed under results for a worn wear search. The jacket is in excellent condition. On Patagonia's site it would have cost $53, judging from another better sweater women's zips there. So, I got about 15% off, and I suppose I should feel good about reuse. Still, I do feel taken in since I didn't get what I thought I had bought. Another reviewer noticed receiving worn wear at a sale price but I skipped over that review until now. Look for a worn wear tag on the inside seam of the jacket to see what you got if you buy it on sale. The drop of 3 stars is for back country's sleazy behavior.

I was so indecisive to get S over M. This is my first Patagonia garment. They are so popular here in the Northeast. I am 5ft11in and with an athletic build. I have broad shoulders and certainly am not a Size Small in most brands. I expected the M to be more slim but I guess the room will come in handy when I have to wear a long sleeve underneath. I would say this is true to size. The color I picked is beautiful and so versatile. I look forward to adventures with this sweater. Hope this review is helpful!

I was a little nervous as some reviews said it was tight in the shoulders. I'm built pretty athletically (big shoulders, small bust). This fits me great - shoulders, arm length, length overall. The weight and color are on point. It's looks nice enough I can get away with wearing it (remotely) to work(and probably in person once we're released). I'm excited to adventure in it!

I usually fit a Medium with Patagonia products. This fits, but is a little tighter than expected mostly around the arms, shoulders and chest. Getting a long sleeve under it was a bit tricky and I definitely wouldn't be able to put more than that on underneath. That being said, with a light tshirt underneath, I like how it fits, so I'm keeping it. It's pretty warm for how light it is, and love the colour.

I was so nervous to order my usual size after reading all the reviews about this running small. But it fits perfectly fine! I have a large chest (DDD) and bigger arms, but did not find my movement restricted at all in this. It’s not loose enough to layer anything thick underneath, but that’s not what I bought it for. The item was new with tags and shipped quickly. 5’5”, 138lb, purchased size M.

I love this sweater, I wear it almost everyday. It does run small So I would recommend ordering up a size. I wear small but ordered a medium and it fits great.

This is my second BetterSweater purchase. Consistent sizing with last year is great. Love the deal I got. Nothing keeps me warmer! The one downside Is that the zipper pull twisted off in the dryer on the first wash, so now I have to use a Bobby pin to pull it down to get out. 😕

I love fall/winter items, but this sweater fell short of my expectations. I found the fit to be abnormal and not flattering at all. Unfortunately, this was a return for me.

Normally a Large in sweaters. I have broad shoulders, 5'9, 175lbs. It's a little boxy and runs tight in the shoulders/arm area.

I love this sweater and will be buying more in other colors! It is fitted, but still roomy. I could wear it over a t-shirt or a fitted long sleeve, but not over a thick long sleeve or sweater. If you want it more lose fitting and able to layer thicker long sleeves, size up! It is warm, cozy, and looks put together!
