Outdoor Research's Activeice Sun Sleeves actively cool down your arms when you work up a sweat running, cycling, or backpacking. Their stretchy fabric breathes, wicks moisture, and dries quickly. Took these on the trail in the Sawtooths and the Bob Marshall this summer, and these are great replacements to wearing heavy sweaty sunscreen (which, even when “unscented”, may have enough scent to be an animal/bear attractant). They are highly moisture wicking, and thought they were perfectly sized and comfortable for my relatively skinny arms (no falling off/slippage, at all). Couple personal learnings to keep in mind (obvious as they might be to others): (1) I think these work better under a tshirt rather than a tank top/sleeveless shirt, which leaves your shoulders exposed to sun, and thus requires sunscreen and can be a little uncomfortable with your backpack; and (2) the tag inside the sleeve (at the top of it) did cause a little irritation, and didn’t appear that removing it would help the situation. That said - good product, and a new staple of my summer hiking gear.

I bought S/M. I typically wear a medium but these sleeves are too large unless you plan to cover your palm through thumb hole. If not, it needs to be folded near the wrist. Material is pretty good and breathable and grip on biceps are firm and do not drop down. Due to sizing issue, I need to cut 2 stars

I bought these because I'm tired of slathering my arms with sunscreen then having to clean it off at night when I'm camping. The ActiveIce cooling really works! It's pretty amazing. Bonus is that the sleeves are long enough and have a thumbhole so that they cover your hands too, so sun gloves are not needed. Great job OR! I'm gonna order more.
