You consider selling the house every time you travel far from home, which would mean that Osprey's Farpoint 70 Pack would be your closest thing to home. The Farpoint combines Osprey's award-winning backpacking technology with convenient luggage for traveling by planes, trains, and automobiles. It features a stowaway suspension system, complete with padded shoulder straps, waist belt, and LightWire stays for rigid support.

The Farpoint comes with a detachable daypack that's ideal for cruising crowded cities or taking to the trails for a quick hike away from the crowds. There are padded sleeves for laptops and tablets inside. If you're a more adventurous spirit and prefer to sleep at the outskirts of society, Osprey installed removable sleeping bag straps.  StraightJacket compression straps secure your load inside and out.

I purchased this pack for a 6 week camping trip in the Yucutan. It had plenty of space for all of my gear and held up great after being consistently exposed to dirt and rain. I've had this pack for about a year now and it is still going strong.

I used this on a recent trip and was blown away. I especially love the functionality of the removable day pack and the fact that it can connect to the front for extra security.

Currently on vacation in Jordan, and bought this with the hope that it would fit in the overhead bin. Amazingly, it fit perfectly and even felt small compared to some of the items that were being stowed. The removable daypack is perfect to remove for items that you may need during a flight, or when out for the day. Cant say enough good things about it at this point. i just want to add that i have now taken this backpack to europe as well, and it was amazing. It fit perfectly in the overhead bin on KLM, on both a 3x3 plane and a typical intercontinental flight. it was definitely easier than trying to wheel luggage around too.

So, I'm no world traveler, and my backpacking and climbing days are over, but this pack works great for my uses (multi day car travel, hotel rooms, cabin trips, etc.) I carry way too much stuff, but this pack carries all I need comfortably. While I am usually only carrying it from the car to my room, it is very comfortable. While this is no pack for backpacking or mountaineering, it's pretty good, and could definitely work for a backpacking trip in a pinch—especially if you needed something for multiple purposes. It's pretty darn comfy. I've known many packs over the years, and this one works great. The detachable day pack is wonderful. The panel access works great for organizing and storing your stuff. I'm 5'10" with broad shoulders and purchase the M/L.

My travel partner used this bag for a several month trip through Asia, and I wish was using it as well instead of my toploading backpack! There is ample space for everything you may need to bring along, and it is a comfortable pack to carry. I am much shorter, but was able to adjust it down to fit me as well when needed. My favorite feature is the detachable daypack. Valuables could always stay close by, and the large part could go under the bus or stay in the hostels. They are easy to zip together when traveling and carrying everything as well. Additionally, the feature to zip away the straps and tighten everything down was super helpful in airports. If you're in need of a travel bag, you've found it! If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help out! Just shoot me an email at mwarren@backcountry.com or a call at 801-523-4067.

This is the perfect pack combo. The main pack can be stuffed to the gills for trips that require more gear (or weddings haha) or packed more lightly with the outer shell compressed. I ADORE the option to zip away my straps. It makes baggage drop-off and claim a breeze at airports and it stacks so easily under buses. The day pack is incredibly light and has a padded, spacious pocket for laptops as well as points to hook gear/sneakers to and a deep front pocket. The day pack zips right on to the main pack and can also be compressed with straps. As for as the harness goes, I have no complaints. I'm a 5'10" woman with a long torso and the hip straps hit at the perfect spot (and they're amply padded). The chest straps are a bit uncomfortable but then again when are they not if you're a woman. I purchased in black and I've taken it on 5 flights so far, shoved it into countless trains and buses, flung it haphazardly at some point in every country we've been to and it's still working and looking perfect. Definitely recommend!

I always wanted a farpoint since I found myself on a different country. I've seen good reviews and ordered one. Just received yesterday. I chatted two representative from this very site and they say its the 2017 version with the osprey logo just plain white instead of the red and black. I prefer the new white version. The black color is kinda faded compared to my 3 years Osprey Nebula. Kinda exposed from the sun too long. At least I want the blackness just like my Nebula. I wanted the new version and you guys confirmed it twice. So 3 start only. Still like it though
