I've owned many high end down jackets during my adult life and this Mammut is by far the best!! I usually buy size large, however, since it was noted that this jacket ran small I purchased an XL. It fits well and is not too big; I am able to layer it with a base layer and/or a heavy sweatshirt. Very warm and light weight! At my age (71), warmth is more of a factor than fashion when I purchase a jacket. Although the Backcountry rep suggested other jackets, I decided on this one. Up until today, April 12, 2020, I have worn it once and amid the Easter holiday and COVID quarantine, there was a 55 degree drop in temperature overnight as well as snow in Golden, CO. I had to take my dog out for a walk so I pulled out my Mammut, threw it over a cotton t-shirt and braved the elements. I stayed warm, dry and protected against the storm and frigid Spring temperatures. I couldn't be any happier with my Mammut and highly recommend it!!

This jacket is the lightest down piece I have ever worn. It feels like you don't even have a jacket on at all, yet still is extremely warm. I've used it as mid-layer on bitter cold days at the mountain and it is amazing. It also packs very small. I love the depth of the pockets and seamless zipper design on the side pockets, which is very stylish. For how much down is packed in this thing, you would be surprised on how light it is. If your looking for a very lightweight down jacket, I would highly recommend this one. It's definitely a must have for me for warmth, and weight.

I finally got rid of my old puffy and got this jacket in october. it's really light, and I definitely would not want to beat it up, but for a belay parka or puffy to throw in my pack for ski touring this is by far the best jacket I've ever worn. it's super warm, I've used it to belay well be low zero F, but it still packs down to about the size of a small cantaloupe melon. I always get my puffies large to fit over another jacket, this runs a little small though, I bought a size bigger than normal and its perfect.

I have worn this jacket to the summit of Mt. Rainer and Mount Kilimanjaro. It is incredibly light and when "every ounce counts" this jacket will give you warmth without adding the weight that most other jackets give, thus giving you an advantage over other climbers. However, because the material is so thin, it is prone to rips. I have patched to very small rips with Gorilla Glue. DO NOT wear this jacket when walking through blackberry bushes or a rose bushes or hug a cactus while wearing it...but why would you be doing that in a high-altitude parka anyways? And since you should be wearing this over all your clothes, get a larger size than you expect. I got XL, and I'm a normal sized guy who wears Medium tshirts. I needed XL to fit over all my other jackets. Summary: I love it, and when I use it for what it is intended for (super cold summit days) it is PERFECT.

Always wanted an arrow in my quiver for those really cold winter days. Last weekend was one of those days 15F in Colorado mountains. So tried Meron Down for my backcountry ski trip. It takes a bit of faith that this would work - it is very light and almost feels like its not there. Wore it with just a baselayer but it kept me warm - too warm in the trees - so had to unzip. above the treeline - it felt comfortable zipped up , and on the ridgelines and the top of the peak - it dropped the hood and zipped up all the way - it did the trick. I don't think this is "one jacket to rule them all" - since i didnt feel comfortable skiing down with it - felt it wouldnt hold up if i hit a branch - so put a hardshell over it all said and done - i am pleased for it - very light , very warm and reasonably stylish

First off full disclosure, I'm a sales rep for Mammut. I recently got a Meron IN for myself. Nearly ten years with the brand this is one of my favorite Mammut pieces ever. So warm and in fact too warm for my everyday Colorado front range jacket. But wearing a t-shirt underneath is all you need for temps around freezing. Layering up for cold outdoor pursuits is great and the weight is impressive, the no bulk feeling is awesome. Fit is spot on and runs true to size with the typical longer sleeve length so no gap between a glove. fabric is super cool and the photo does not do it justice. Get one and you won't be disappointed

I'm mainly writing this review because there are none for this jacket anywhere as of yet and this jacket deserves one. First off, this jacket is insanely light. It has something like 110g of 900 fill, which I was concerned wouldn't be warm enough so I didn't take the tags off until I walked around in 25 degrees with a t-shirt underneath. Trust me, it's warm enough. Secondly, the fit is awesome. I am 6' and 155 lbs and it basically feels like it was tailored for me (medium size). It looks and feels fantastic. I could see a larger person around the middle not being as psyched on it, so keep that in mind. I'll write a follow up after more use.
