More comfortable than an Alaskan cruise ship and almost as outfitted as a Coast Guard cutter, the Kokatat's OutFit Tour Personal Flotation Device rocks all the fit adjustments and safety options you need for extended paddles in open water. Stiff, bloated PFD's are a thing of the past, and the articulated and flexible foam and shell of the OutFit Tour is proof. Slide your arms through the wide openings, stash small essentials in the pockets, and point your boat towards the horizon line.

I bought this PFD primarily for kayak touring. It took a few trips for break in and stop riding up when paddling; now that it has broken in it extremely comfortable both in and out of the water. The pockets are great and I have enough of them to house my car keys, PLB, VHF, phone and snackies. The medium was a great fit for me I have a 41" chest.

This PFD works as intended. Multiple pockets to help to keep organized on longer adventures. Easy adjustments while it is on to secure a good fit.

I consider my PFD to be the one piece of equipment that I will not get onto the water without. There is no good reason not to wear protection on the water, whether you are wading, kayaking, boating or taking part in any activity where you might take a wet spill. A good PFD is absolutely essential gear. That said, I have a number of them that I use depending on the situation. I purchased my Kokatat Outfit Tour specifically for kayak fishing from October to May, when water temps here in Western PA are below 60 degrees. Above 60, I use a Mustang Inflatable. I bought the Kokatat after borrowing one from a friend last fall and using it for a day. It is one of the best built, most comfortable and well designed products on the market. I highly recommend you try one on the next time you are in the market for a high quality, American made PFD.

This is seriously the best PFD I have ever owned. Fit is awesome and customizable with the shoulder and side adjustable straps. The double-layer front pockets allow for easy access to your storage items, i.e. phone/camera/sustainables. Very comfy and not constrictive to paddling movements. Love this PFD!

I have owned several jackets over the years and this one remains among the favorites. I am a smaller paddler, my chest is 28" so it's hard to find a jacket that fits. I got this in the smallest size available a few years back and cinched down tight, it's a good fit (might be worth double checking if the sizing has changed within the last few years). This jacket is simple, comfortable, and low profile if you're rowing (not sure about kayaking). The knife holder is in a good spot that's out of the way as well. Kokatat never disappoints.

This is my first personal PFD and I am stoked with the purchase. I originally bought it for sailing, then used it for rafting and now have adapted it to river kayaking. It has worked for all occasions very well. What I like about this vest the most is every pocket has a little 'D' ring to attach anything to it. Such as keys, a knife or what ever you would like to stay in your vest. Another thing I like about this PFD is the main pocket zippers arch over and are faced down so they don't un-zip during an active day. One thing I haven't liked about it is that when I am rolling in a kayak the buckle on the front pocket has come unclipped and I lost my cheap but useful watch.... luckily they are cheap at K-Mart. It's comfy and I am secure in it....those are the most important to me.

Like Gnarlydog I've spent the last several years wearing an MsFit Tour. That vest treated me very well but I like this OutFit Tour even better. The forward pocket placement and the larger arm openings offer excellent mobility and comfort. The slightly longer body does not hamper me in any way as compared to the MsFit. The OutFit Tour better distributes the weight of the Kokatat hydration system I wear during the heat season, an aspect this old man's back appreciates. The new pocket design is sweet, excellent cargo space and easy access. The new hood over the chest lash tab is another super touch that shows Kokatat is continually looking for ways to improve their equipment and they're listening to those who use these vests in the real world. Give your new Kokatat PFD a nice liberal dose of 303 fabric care before you put it into service and then follow up at intervals appropriate to your use and region. Your vest will last a long time and look great. Thanks to Backcountry and Kokatat for great products and service.

I went back to Kokatat after 6 years of using/wearing out the Kokatat MsFit. The OutFit Tour has the pockets a bit more forward on the chest giving me better clearance when paddling. I like the new recess-pocket for the knife on the left shoulder so the kinfe sheet won't stick out anymore like on my old MsFit. The pockets are well placed and I can acess my compact camera with ease. The shoulder straps are outstanding having the webbing tuck away nicely and not having the excess flopping around. The workmanship is superb, something that I expect from Kokatat anyway.
