Easy to use and quick to work, the Katadyn Gravity BeFree 3.0L Microfilter is your ticket to clean water whether you're thru-hiking the AT or just camping  out for the weekend. It features a hollow fiber filter that can process up to 2 liters of water per minute, eliminating microorganisms like protozoa and bacteria. The 43mm wide-mouth opening makes for easy filling from lake, river, or tap, and the integrated bail handle and carry loop let you hang it while it filters. To clean the filter in the field, simply shake or swish the EZ-Clean Membrane to remove debris.

I am so impressed with this filter. It quite literally works like a faucet. Saves you time to enjoy your friends and the scenery. Not complicated. Lightweight. Easy to clean. I will never go back to a pump after experiencing this. It is my new go to birthday gift for friends and family. My perfectionist complaints would be the handle, it's a tiny bit uncomfortable, but the sling fixes that mostly. The other is the material of the bag could in theory get a hole, but you trade that for its lightweight feature. Just be relatively careful with it. Don't smack it on a sharp rock or get it impaled by a branch haha.

I used this for a backpacking trip in Escalante and it kept 6 of us hydrated for 3 days. Better than lugging a ton of water!

Bought this to take on a backpacking trip into the Wind Rivers and it was amazing to have! Anytime we stopped by a lake or stream we could restock our group of 6's water supply in less than 15 minutes. This made us all a lot more comfortable with not carrying as much water while we were hiking to reduce weight. Its a little difficult to fill up in a lake but with a little practice it becomes easier.

I love my BeFree and I'm really psyched to have it in a Gravity package now. I can now use one filter for filtering on the go or around camp. Pair this with a HydraPak Seeker for a durable squeeze pump/extra storage.
