This thing is light, easy to use and multipurpose. I see folks complaining that the lid will come off if you try to seal in super hot liquid -just make sure the sipping hole is open and this isn't a problem. The only flaw I've found is that you can't clip it to the outside of your pack because the cup will come out of the sleeve sometimes. I know folks have glued them together to solve this problem, but I love being able to throw this into the dishwasher when I get home so I haven't gone that far yet. Instead, I pack it into the fairshare bowl which has a snap to keep the sleeve attached and then can clip that to my bag when necessary. We have three folks in our family and three colors of this mug to help us keep them straight -we all like them that much.

I soooo wanted to love this product, but unfortunately it performed so poorly that I'm writing my first Backcountry.com review. So, the lid stays on through a friction seal with the Nalgene insert. Unfortunately, because of some significant design flaws, that friction is not enough to counteract the pressure from steam when hot liquids are inside. As a result, if you put in hot coffee/tea, the lid doesn't stay firmly on and can pop off on its own. A catastrophic design flaw for something designed to hold hot liquids!

Imagine a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle cut in half with a coffee sip lid and a nylon/neoprene insulating sleeve and a nylon Loop handle. Thatâs what this is. And itâs perfect for camping or traveling. I especially like that it is marked as a measuring cup, which makes measuring out up to 16oz of boiling water for backpacking food very easy. The very same mug then works perfectly for coffee in the morning. I require all my coffee mugs to be completely leak proof when full and closed, and this one is, even when shaking it vigorously. For this reason I have no issues using a carabiner to attach this mug to the outside of my pack while hiking and not worrying that the lid will come off. This may become an issue in many years when the o-ring becomes brittle, but at $10 to replace it, this is not a reason to give this less than 5 stars.

This coffee cup is awesome. It works great for a cup of coffee in the morning, but gets used almost ever meal for measuring. Everyone I was backpacking with used it to measure with at some point. If this thing breaks tomorrow, I’ll buy 2 more.

I thought it would be a lot heavier, but as soon as I picked it up I realized this cup is going to go everywhere I go, it's so light and I love the handle. Because it's not a fixed handle it easier to store. The lid works well but a good tip would be to open the lip before closing so it creates a good vacuum. Only thing I have left to test is durability. Oh and it's wide enough for my coffee press.

Buy it. I hang this cup outside of my backpack filled with energy bars. We will consume the bars on the way up to the mountain. Then, I use the cup for accurate measurement cup when I make backpacking food ( there is markers on the wall of cup once you slip off the cloth). Last, a cup of hot tea which stays hot with the sleeve on is my favorite thing. Best purchase ever.
