I had really high hopes this helmet would be awesome for my little ripper. I was glad to find a reasonably priced kids helmet that had more adult like features and comfort. The shell fits her wonderfully, but as soon as I tried to adjust the chin strap, I knew this helmet was basically unusable. The problem is, Giro put an off the shelf chin strap from some of their adult helmets, on this helmet specifically designed for kids, WTF. The way the chin strap padding is sewn to the strap, prevents any significant adjustment and it straight up won't fit the child who's head the shell was sized for. This isn't a case of buying the wrong size, as I said, the shell is perfect. This is a case of poorly thought out (no thought) design. This helmet is unsafe, and it shouldn't be sold to the public. I've included a pic of my daughter wearing the helmet, size small, with the chinstrap set at its MAX tight adjustment. As you can see, no bueno.
