No matter the forecast, you're ready for the trail ahead with the Backcountry Uinta 3L Rain Jacket. This technical piece features a lightweight, packable design that stows easily while the sun is shining, with quality hardshell defenses to protect you in the event of stormy weather. The 3-layer waterproof laminate and fully-sealed seams keep you dry and comfortable against driving rain, with a cinchable hem and hood to defend against the creep of wind-driven moisture. While the microporous lamination offers breathable, quick-drying performance to keep your microclimate from getting muggy, should you need to dump heat in a hurry you can unzip the underarm vents to cool off quick.

I generally wear a large jacket size (5'10", 170), so I ordered this in a large and XL. I wanted a jacket with extra room to layer (think down jacket underneath), but this jacket is quite fitted. I have broad shoulders, so this is always a challenge, but the XL fit more like a large to me. I sent both back because the XL still wasn't roomie enough, and the waist was too narrow for me. The jacket material is also a little thinner than I would have expected on a 3L jacket. Not problematic, but just lighter. I don't know about waterproofness since I sent it back, however. Jacket construction and materials are high quality, but the fit could use work. I think another buyer warned that the chest was a little weird. It kind of sticks out a bit around the fullest part of the bust. I noticed this, too, and it likely has to do with where the chest pocket lining is located. This wasn't a deal breaker, but curvier women may notice this as it makes for a bit of an odd silhouette. What I did like is that it was a longer jacket offering more rain protection. And the Rich Mauve color is beautiful (way better than in the picture). It would look good on anyone. If this jacket weren't so narrow, I would have definitely kept it.

Love the style and features of this jacket. Pockets that are actually useful. Vents. And the rose color is unique. Most of all I LOVE the hem length because if a jacket doesn't keep the rain off my butt, its useless to me. Mine is still going back. I'm between a small and a medium on the chart, and I purchased a Medium. The fit doesn't quite work for me. If I wear pants and a sweatshirt or fleece, the hips are too small. If I size up, the shoulders on this jacket - which are already wider than usual - are going to be way too large - which means I won't be able to move my arms. I hate when my arms are restricted by shoulders that are too big. Ever have your arms stuck to your sides because the armholes and sleeves are too different from your own shoulders and arms? Thats what Im worried about. Thats why this jacket is going back. Otherwise its lovely. Ladies, if you have wide shoulders, give this jacket a try.

Beautiful rose color, comfortable w space to layer in but the front zip was bulging on me. So it was a no go for me

I had been searching for a waterproof shell lightweight enough to wear hiking on a summer midwestern day when there are scattered storms and I think I finally found it! I am usually a medium in tops but sized up for a bit more room with this and am glad I did. I'm 5'5" with broad shoulders and the length of the sleeves and hem are just right and there's plenty of room to layer on colder days. This was my first purchase from the brand and I'll definitely consider again in the future!

Purchased this for my lady. I have been searching relentlessly for some time to find the right rain jacket for her body type. Pear shape - she is small up top and wider around the booty. Bought her a size medium and it literally fits her like it was made for her, with room for layers. She typically hovers between medium and small for most garments. Almost as if the stars aligned the day after I gave it to her, our wonderful mother nature rained down hard and long. She stayed nice and dry between coming and going to work. She's a nurse so still working during these weird times. We have not trail tested this yet, but the quality seems like it will hold up for a while. The little bit of stretch is also nice, and the rich mauve color is actually quite pretty and not old lady-ish like you might think (I thought). So far so good!

This rain shell ticks all the boxes for me as an avid traveler and hiker -- tons of pockets and vents, breathable material, waterproof design. It's cute, as well!

I ordered a M and it fits perfectly other than being quite long on me. I'm 5'3" and it looks more like a rain COAT than a rain JACKET. Wish you made petites!!!

Took this jacket out for a test spin and was really impressed by the construction and design. Kept me dry during an unexpected storm that lasted for several hours during my last river trip. Has all the features I want in a rain jacket. Zippered pit vents, lots of pockets options, adjustable cuffs, large hood with adjustment points, packs down small, etc. Loving the four-way stretch fabric, it's honestly something I've come to expect in all of my outerwear these days and this jacket did not disappoint. Medium fits me well with a little extra room to spare for layers and movement. I like that the length is slightly on the longer side as it provides more coverage and helps the water drain off of me as opposed to directly on my pants. Mauve is a really nice color too. All around, very impressed by this shell!

Personal Measurements I Find Important: Shoulder Size: 19" from side of arm to side of arm Forearm Size: 11" General Sweat Level: High (I sweat a lot) General Heat Level: Low (I get cold very easily) Used Product for initial impressions, hiking, but no rain Quick Summary: Love the Yellow, good fabric feel, is stretchy, love the venting Review: I live in the desert and have been waiting for it to rain...so far no luck. But so far I like the feel of this jacket and am very excited about the pit zips for ventilation. I have a Large which is very roomy, fits in the shoulders, but then becomes baggy at the bottom. I don 't really mind though as its a rain jacket and I'll likely be putting it over layers. I'll get back to you about it's rain proofing ability when it next pours.

So durable! This jacket not only comes in my favorite color, but it fits my body perfectly! You can tell the design team made sure this could fit the female body. I appreciate it! Also: the durability is 10/10. I took this jacket through the ringer on my past trip to a waterfall spot in SoCal and it handled a full day of rock sliding, and more.

Durable and breathable! Nice material - a little thicker than other rain jackets. Most comfortable rain coat I've ever had :)

I got the Uinta 3L Stretch Rain Jacket just in time for some spring multisport adventures. A friend of mine and I (plus my pup) mountain biked out to a trailhead with our splitboards on our backs on a particularly “northeast spring”-y day. The roads were VERY muddy and while the temps were warm and sunny, the snow was WET (and maybe I fell into a stream on the downhill, too....). The Uinta was amazing on this adventure. It kept me dry but cool thanks to the armpit vents and super light material; it broke the wind at the summit and kept me chill-free; and it shouldered all of the mud splashes that hit me on the way out on my bike. This will be my go-to running, biking, and spring riding jacket for SURE. (And it’s cute, too...)

Breathable, waterproof, durable! My new favorite jacket. I love the flexibility of this jacket, I have never felt restrained while doing all the activities I love in it. Hiking, backpacking, spring touring - this jacket is made for any activity you might encounter wind or rain. Thrilled it has pit zips and large pockets, some must-have features! The Citron color is incredibly beautiful.
