This is a review for the previous generation of this shorts that had huge pockets. I went backpacking and found them to be comfortable, lightweight, breathable and fast drying. Huge pockets are a big bonus, can put a lot of small things inside, but not a phone. Well, my phone actually fits inside, but if it's positioned vertically it's uncomfortable to walk since it digs into your leg when walking. If it's positioned horizontally, it looks strange and the pocket liner is showing (pictured). That's my experience with 6.5 in phone, might be more suitable for smaller phones. I recommend to size up. It's tight in the waist. I usually wear size 0 and ordered XS, it was too small in the waist and shorts ride up when I'm walking. But I liked them so much that I decided to keep it as is.

**I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion.** I am 5'10" and 150lbs and the Women's Large fit well. I am typically a Medium in bottoms, but these shorts run small so I opted for a size up. These shorts fit perfect around my bottom and thighs but the waistband is just ever so slighly roomy. While the waistband is wide and extremely comfortable, there is no drawstring to adjust the waist fit, so I was unable to make them tighter. That would be a small area of improvement as well as including an under liner to make them more functional for high movement activities. My favorite part about these shorts is how versatile they are. They're perfect for trail running, hiking, and just everyday life. I have worn these shorts on multiple backpacking trips here in Utah including a King's Peak ascent. They are lightweight, quick drying, durable, and the 4 way stretch material ensures full mobility when hiking and scrambling across rocks. They also pack incredibly small in my backpack when I was not wearing them. I also have some of the best trail running trails here in Park City so these shorts have gotten really good use. The little stasher pocket on the back is perfect for a snack, chapstick, and a house key when I am off on short runs. The "shark" color is super unique, matches everything, and has received so many compliments. The shorts held up perfectly after every single wash and after air drying. Overall, the Olympus Lightweight shorts are flattering and functional for the active lifestyle. I'm impressed yet again Backcountry!

These are my go to adventure summer shorts as they are very light weight, comfortable, breathable, and dry quickly. I just took them on a kayaking/backpacking trip and they transition well from being wet to dry. They do run a little small, so if your like me and tend to be in-between a medium and a small, I would recommend the medium if you are looking for a looser fit in the waist.

I LOVE these shorts, I just wish they had a liner! However, they are super lightweight and comfortable. The leg opening is wide and plenty of room for hiking, running, weight training, etc. The waistband does run slightly small and does not stretch much, but if you have a smaller waist they should fit just fine. If not, definitely size up.

These shorts are incredibly comfortable and versatile. I wear them running, hiking, running errands, or just lounging around the house. They're really breathable and also dry really fast, which is great for paddleboarding or throwing on over a suit to head to the resevoir. The wide waistband is super flattering, but they do have a tendency to ride up slightly. Size up if you're in between sizes.

The waistband on these was somewhat tight, but the thigh opening was huge on me. I'm a 00/0 and got the XXS. Sadly I will be sending them back.

These shorts are amazing (so is the Olympus skort, which does have a decent sized pocket), but could it just please, PLEASE have a pocket big enough for a phone?! Is this not what women have been literally pleading for in all of their clothes - pockets! These shorts are the perfect length, weight, fit, everything (it's backcountry, so of course) except for the teeny, tiny little pocket. I just don't get it. I would buy every color available if the pocket was like an inch bigger, but I think I'll have to return them even though I love everything else about them. I just want a pair of shorts to run in (both around the house with kids and on trails) that can fit my phone and a key in. That's it. I have yet to find a pair... I'm usually between an S and M and ordered the M - great fit (5'9" 135 lbs)

I have lived in the Olympus shorts this summer! I loved the original version, so I got another pair of these, the updated version. These are great for running, as the legs have plenty of range of motion and breathability. They are stretchy and really comfortable, yet durable enough to handle rock scrambles here in the Wasatch. I wear them casually at home, working out, running, paddling, you name it! They do have a trim fit in the waistband, so if you're in between sizes, I'd consider sizing up. I wear a large in Backcountry and most brands and the large fit me. If you like the shorts, you should also look into the Olympus Skort!

I recently just got these and do not want to take them off! The fit is super comfortable and I love the flow the leg provides. I've used them for hiking and running. I also used them today which was in the mid 90's and sticky for some biking and they were perfect! No riding up and super flattering! Looking to get them in the shark color too, highly recommend!

I love these, they are super comfortable and breathable. They don't have a liner, but that's okay I feel like they are long enough to not be too revealing. They are true to size, I usually vary between a small and medium short. I ordered these in a medium, but could have totally gotten a small.

Absolutely loving the Olympus Shorts! I bought these a few weeks ago & they're already my go-tos for spring runs. The material is lightweight, breathable, and also has a nice stretch to it. I love that the leg openings are a little flowy so I don't feel so constricted when running. The thick waist band helps the shorts stay put when on the move & the Shark colorway is so, so cute in person. I love these shorts so much I just bought the skort version to play tennis in :)

They need a liner! I think with the style of short, they were still pretty fitted that I would not want to wear Spandex, and wearing a thong might show through. Would love to see a liner! Other than that, great pair of shorts with a nice material.
