Agree with other comments that this item is high quality but thin. A nice shirt and very happy with the look and price point. But I suggest something more stout as an underlayer, or at least test this first to avoid being under-equipped on a trek. Even if not the best underlayer, it's a nice, versatile long sleeve shirt and worth the purchase at this price.

I saw the opportunity to purchase another set of these merino longjohns n said most definitely. Suggestion is to size down, i spoke to a gearhead n he was on the money??. I'm seriously happy with my purchase, i hope u'll be as well.

Just received my top. My first merino wool piece of clothing. 100% softer than cotton n I can't wait for the cold weather. I really hope what folks say about the warmth of merino is true. For the fit, I normally wear xl and when I asked a gearhead he said go with the large. Awesome! I'm 6'1" 195lbs n I have to say the length on the shirt is great. Thanks folks, Richard C.

This henley hugs your body like spandex. The fit is way too "fitted" for my personal taste.

Great looking and great fitting. It's liter weight than I expected but still very nice if you're not wanting a heavy weight.

I would be tempted to wear this as a shirt rather than a base layer. It fits well, is comfortable, looks good, and is thin. I will say that because it’s wool it is pretty warm so you COULD use it as a base if you wanted to.

Love the fabric and feel of this henley. It should not be used as a baselayer but rather a casual shirt.

I originally purchased this henley for a baselayer but found that it was too thin for most days. I, instead, wear it out and about. It's a nice looking shirt but wouldnt buy it if you're looking for a warmer shirt

This baselayer feels awesome - very soft and does a great job of wicking sweat and regulating temperature. These are on the lighter side, but properly layered and you'll stay warm and dry all day even if you're earning your turns or hiking the sidecountry at the resort.

Great henley - good for night out on town. If you expect it to be a good base layer, think again. This piece is ultra thin compared to competitors merino wool baselayers and led me to freeze my rear off on a recent trip. Not what I was expecting from a backcountry outfitter, but stylish design.
