Loved the pants as soon as I saw them and tried them on. The fleece lining takes off the edge of the cooler winter temperatures. Tested them in low-mid 40s outside and my bare legs didn't feel cold at all. The pockets are also fleece lined, and the stretchy waistband with strings come in handy. I would agree with some of the other reviews, that the pants run slightly large in sizing, but it is really just the waistband. I am 5'7" ft, 127 lbs, and an athlete. I wear a size 0-2 in jeans. For the Kilby pants I ordered size XS and I still need to use the waistband strings to tighten the pants around the waist. The fit around the ankle, thighs, and butt are great and loosely fitted, just as expected. Leg length is also just right. Hoping they are water repellent, resistant as advertised. Will test this feature once we head up to the ski slopes.

Thought I'd toss in my 2 cents about the sizing: I don't think these pants run large per se, but I'd say go by your usual letter size rather than the size chart and size down if you're between sizes. I usually take an XS or S in bottoms depending on the brand (think XS in Patagonia, S in Arcteryx - 26-27" waist, usually 2-4 in jeans) and went with the S here based on the size chart. The legs fit okaaaay, the waist is pretty gappy and I absolutely have to use the drawstring to keep the pants from falling down. I definitely wish I'd sized down. That being said, these are some of the comfiest pants I've ever owned, and the techy fabric looks totally acceptable in public. I've gotten quite a few compliments despite them being a bit on the baggy side, and I'm stoked to take them out hiking!

They are a little long, but it's great if you like to tuck the pantleg into boots or socks for added warmth. I keep these out of the dryer and just let them air dry, and haven't had the fleece piling issue mentioned in other reviews. All in all, these are an excellent option for being outside in the cold!

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. I was surprised to fall in love with these pants! The fit: I loved the way they looked in the photos on the website, but I am a pretty curvy person with wider hips and sometimes struggle with this jogger style because of that. So I expected to not feel great in the pants. I was excited to find that that wasn’t the case here! The fit is flattering without being super tight. You can have leggings on underneath for added warmth without feeling bulky, but you would rarely need that because the pants are so warm on their own! I read a few reviews saying the fit was off, but I got the size M pants and LOVE how they fit! The material: The inside material is so soft and comfortable! It did take me a couple washes before the fleece like inside stopped pilling, but in my experience that is typical with this material. The outside material does a great job at protecting you from water and grim without soaking in. Of course they are not water proof, but they are durable and resistant enough to be comfortable in adventure situations (see picture of when I took my dogs to a river to play and splashed me a bunch). I have barely taken these pants off since I got them almost 3 weeks ago. I am in love with them! Also they have huge pockets which is always a plus!

Excited to have found these pants! I've been looking for a pair of winter hiking pants that give me room to move in. I like that the bottoms cinch because I typically wear gaiters with my boots in the winter. I'm glad these pants have a waist tie because they do run a little large. I'm 5'4 140lbs and got a medium. Love how big the front pockets are!

I really wanted to like these pants but the fit is so weird. I ordered a small and while it fits perfectly on my thighs and calves the waist has huge gapping that cannot be remedied by the small drawstring.

Just got this pants today, sadly I have to return them because of misinformation that it runs larger so I have ordered one size smaller and it’s tight. Just noticed that they changed it to true size.

I read a lot of these reviews saying that these pants were "LARGE" and to order down a size. Inaccurate. I bought a Medium, based on that and they FIT but they are tighter in the thigh than necessary. I'm 190 5'8" muscular build (thick thighs) and would have been just fine in a large. If you want them to fit like the picture (not tight) order your normal size.

These pants are super comfy and have a good stretch to them! I’ve worn them on cold weather hikes and while climbing in colder weather (did not pill / fray when used with a harness). They keep me warm but don’t make me overheat! They’ve become my go-to pant for cold weather adventures. Depending on the brand and style, I wear a size S or XS in bottoms. My measurements are 27.5in waist and 36in hip. I actually have narrow hips (30in high hip measurement), so the waist band on the size Small is pretty large on me, but I’m used to that with pants that sit just above the hip, which is why I’m saying these fit true to size. I just tie the waist tight, and they stay put. The tie is stretchy, so when tied tight, it doesn’t feel like it is cutting into you at all. I’m 5'2" but didn’t feel these pants were too long on me. They tuck nicely into my hiking socks without appearing bunched up. The only gripe (the reason for just 4 stars) is that the fleece backing flakes off a lil each time I take the pants off. I’m hoping this will stop with time.

Oh, man - I have to buy a second pair just so I can keep wearing them while one is in the wash. The waist elastic keeps my pants up with a giant phone in my pocket without needing the drawstring. And THE POCKETS - these are THE largest pockets I've ever seen on women's pants, they go halfway down my thigh in the front and back pockets, it is wonderful. The cut is very comfortable and such a nice change from skinny jeans or tights, and the fleece lining is so cozy. Outer fabric is holding up well so far.

I just exchanged these pants for a size small (originally bought M) - I'm 5' 8", 135lbs, typically a size 4/6, 27, and almost always get a medium in leggings. These were huge in the hips and waist, hoping the small works better. The lining on these pants was super soft, looking forward to wearing them on cold walks / hikes this winter.

Hi, this is Emily and I work on the Backcountry brand product development team. I am writing this review today to help guide your sizing decision on this new product. My measurements are: 5'4" Tall Size 4, or on the larger size of S in bottoms The larger side of S for tops bust 34 B. I am so excited about these pants! We all love that tech jogger style, but always hate the winter because the standard jogger won't keep us warm. The Kilby is the answer! With the style we all love and a fleece backing these will keep you warm, comfy, and stylish. Again I wear a 4 in most sizes and the M in this pant fits me well. I am short so there is some bunching near my ankle, but I like the way it looks!
