River runners rejoice, because the Werner Powerhouse Straight Shaft Fiberglass Paddle is here to give you all the power you need to move fast and aggressively in technical water. A fiberglass shaft gives you confidence that your paddle won't snap at an inopportune moment, and the balanced shape of the full-size fiberglass blade results in clean catches and more purchase with every stroke. The blade also has a dihedral for smooth and stable strokes, and an asymmetrical shape that reduces the paddle's desire to twist in your hands.

I bought the Powerhouse in topo map green at 200 cm. I had a Sherpa at 192cm and was happy with it but I have a long torso and arms (6'1" height). I wasn't sure about the length and extra paddle surface area at first. It took some getting used to after the smaller paddle I learned with. I still like that paddle but have no doubts about reaching for this Powerhouse every time. After adjusting to the differences, I actually have to be careful when rolling so I don't roll all the way over upside down again. I have a lot more speed when I need it to attain or stay on a wave. Glad I made the jump up.

I have this same paddle but with a bent shaft. It has the same shape as the Sherpa but with a larger surface area for strong/aggressive paddlers looking for a little bit more grab on the water. The bent shaft isn't really necessary especially if you're a beginner paddler. All it does it make it a little more ergonomic and can help you keep a little better control. I would recommend this paddle to any motivated paddler who wants to go hard whether there on class II or class V. It'll do everything you need it to do and it won't break the bank if it goes off swimming without you.

This is the third Werner paddle in my collection. It's lightweight and rugged. Plenty of blade area to power through rapids.

I don't have alot of experience with paddles but this is my first Werner powerhouse and I completely love it. It has a large blade making it easy to catch the water but not to large for effective paddling. I had misgivings about the integrity of the paddle but after using it I have no doubts about its strength and I recommend it highly.
