The ironically named Hy-Vent membrane is the worst membrane for breathability that I have ever used. It is almost feels like a simple polyurethane-coated jacket. I just wore this for fifteen days, mountain hiking in Norway, and it rained fourteen of them- this jacket was clammy and uncomfortable the whole way. In my opinion this is a poseur jacket not a technical rain shell. The arms are also too narrow which makes this problem worse. The pit-zips are not even enough to alleviate this effect.

I'm 6ft, 175lbs. I initially bought a large and was swimming in it. The medium fits well for my purposes, which is to use as a shell. It's a good budget option (I bought mine for $59 shady blue) providing you with 2.5L, pit-zips, and velcro cuffs. If you aren't looking to layer, you might want to try on a small. As for layering, I can fit a shirt + 1/2 zip long sleeve + a North Face Ventrix (size large) all underneath my medium Venture 2 and still maintain a decent amount of breathability/mobility.

A typical NF rain shell. Decent as long as it does not rain too hard for too long. I bought it because it is orange and blue so that now I have a Denver Broncos rain shell. Very roomy.

Its a rain shell. I had a TNF Venture jacket from many years ago that fit great and performed well. Eventually the membrane wore off/broke down and it was time to replace the jacket. I like the new one, but a medium is now somewhere between a large and x-large. It's like I'm a kid wearing his dad's jacket. I hate dealing with returns so now I have a big rain shell.

Took this on a canoe fishing trip. We ran into some rain and I stayed dry as a bone. The armpit vents are awesome and the material feels durable. It fits a little big. If you’re a large in other jackets, you might want to bump down a size. I’m 6’1, 190 lbs and this was too big.

It’s lightweight, stylish, and roomy enough to easily layer underneath, plus it’s got ventilation zippers and multiple sinch points. Great all around!

Its waterproof, the side vents are nice, and its packable. I'm taking a star off cause of the lack of chest pockets.

Ordered this jacket for backpacking trips and to wear in general. This jacket seems to be of high quality and fits just right. I ordered a large and there's plenty of room to layer underneath. Haven't tried it in the rain or wind yet but I'm sure it will provide for the conditions.

my first shell. i love it. im 6'4 and got an xl, the sleeves run slightly long, but i don't think it will be any issue when i put a few layers underneath. haven't used it in a heavy rain, but it keeps dry not problem in a drizzle

This is a great option for anyone looking for a budget-friendly rain jacket. I am very surprised by how well the DryVent membrane holds up to everyday wear and tear. All in all, I am very impressed with this jacket.

This seems like a good jacket. However the picture of the primary green jacket in this website is not correct at all, it looks much brighter almost neon which is what I was looking for but when I received it was a much darker medium green. For that reason I’m returning it.

I have only used this jacket a couple of times so far, but it is light and dry as advertised. It has bee cool and rainy so I have worn this with a sweater and it still feels a little too large.

The North Face Venture 2 had a good fit. It is large enough to be able to layer over warmer clothes but not so large it feels like I am wearing a tent. It is extremely light weight and can be packed so that it makes a very small footprint. I have not tested it out in the rain. I bought it for an upcoming trip overseas where I had to pack light and be prepared for the elements. The dry vents were a big selling point for me

For a lower budget jacket, these are really nice! Pair it with a nice base layer or fleece and you are set. Waterproofing has been better than expected. True fit as well.
